REDUCTION OF AMMONIA EMISSION FROM LIVESTOCK HOUSING
The invention relates to a method for reducing emission of ammonia from a livestock housing. The method comprises applying a composition comprising a compound that restrains ammonia volatilization onto freshly excreted manure by an animal in the livestock housing. Because the compound is deposited onto freshly excreted manure, ammonia volatilization is tackled at the source, rather than at a later moment, e.g. in a manure pit, when contact of faeces and urine, and therefore the conversion of urea to ammonia under the influence of urease has already led to volatilization of ammonia.
METHOD AND A CONTROL ARRANGEMENT FOR ADJUSTING A CLEANING SCHEDULE FOR CLEANING SESSIONS OF A SCRAPER ARRANGEMENT
A method for adjusting a cleaning schedule for cleaning sessions of a scraper arrangement (1) arranged for removing manure in a livestock area. One cleaning session comprises one cleaning along a predefined path in the livestock area. The method comprises monitoring (S2), while performing cleaning sessions in accordance with the cleaning schedule, a load quantity representing an amount of material moved by the scraper arrangement (1). The method also comprises adjusting (S5) the cleaning schedule, based on a variation in the monitored load quantity among the monitored cleaning sessions. The disclosure also relates to a control arrangement (10).
AUTOMATIC ANIMAL PROCESSING DEVICE
An automatic animal processing device for automatically retrieving a domestic animal partly from a stall to process the animal while restraining the animal. The animal processing device includes an animal controlling mechanism operative to engage, position and restrain the animal for processing. The animal controlling mechanism may include at least on articulated arm to constrain and immobilize an animal to process it, e.g. milk it. The animal processing device may be a milking machine may be a milking machine having a milking head assembly and a cleaning system therefor whereby the milking head assembly is cleaned inside a compartment. The animal processing device may be a dual animal milking machine having full and half operation modes whereby two sets of processing equipments are used to service two animals simultaneously or only one set is used for both respectively.
AUTOMATIC TENSIONING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE
An automatic tensioning apparatus is provided that includes a tensioning drive unit having: a longitudinally extending stationary base frame with a plurality of guides extending between a lower portion and an upper portion, and a plurality of rotatable feed wheels axially secured at the lower portion, as well as a translatable drive frame slidably coupled to the plurality of guides with a drive assembly coupled to the drive frame, the drive assembly including a drive motor and a tensile member interface for engaging and rotationally translating a tensile member. The tensioning drive unit further including a plurality of drive frame actuators actuatable to move the drive frame between a bottom frame position and a top frame position, as well as a sensor for at least indirectly sensing the position of the drive frame along a longitudinal base frame axis.

Cable Drive Unit
A cable drive unit (1) for use with a free stall cleaning system (101). The cable drive unit (1) includes a base frame (3), a support frame (5) being displaceable with respect to the base frame (3) via a corresponding displacement assembly (7), and a drum (9) pivotably mountable about the support frame (5) and displaceable therewith for receiving a cable (11) to be wound about said drum (9). Also described is a kit for assembling a cable drive unit (1) and a free stall cleaning system (101). Also described is a method of winding a cable (11) of a free stall cleaning system (101) about a drum (9) via the present cable drive unit (1).

Chain wheel
A chain wheel includes a body and protrusions extending outward along the periphery of the body for receiving links of a chain. The protrusions are connected releasably to the body and are spring-mounted independently of each other in a peripheral direction relative to the body.
Device for translational driving of a scraping member
A device for translating a scraper of droppings covering a corridor of a livestock building. The device includes a chain secured to the scraper, a first sprocket secured to a first end of the chain and a second sprocket secured to a second end of the chain. The first sprocket is rotated by a first motor and the second sprocket is rotated by a second motor in the opposite direction of the first sprocket. A controller controls power supply to the motors and takes states including: a driving state of the scraper in a first direction, wherein the first motor is supplied with power and the power supply of the second motor is cut off; and a driving state of the scraper in a direction opposite to the first direction, wherein the second motor is supplied with power and the power supply of the first motor is cut off.
Manure-removal vehicle for removing manure from an animal-shed floor
A wheeled manure-removal vehicle for removing manure from an animal-shed floor includes a tank for storing manure, a manure collector, a liquid reservoir placed in the tank and having an opening for the supply of liquid to the reservoir and the discharge of liquid from the reservoir, and a flexible reservoir wall, to make it possible to vary the volume of the reservoir, depending on the fill level, and a dispenser operatively connected to the reservoir for dispensing liquid from the reservoir onto the animal-shed floor. The opening of the reservoir is situated in a top part of the reservoir. The reservoir furthermore includes a spacer which extends on the inside of the reservoir from the opening down to the lower part of the reservoir to ensure a liquid passage between the opening and a bottom part of the reservoir.
