HEAD GATE FOR A CATTLE CONTAINMENT CHUTE
An animal head gate includes head gate doors each having a squeeze bar to trap the neck mounted between upper and lower rails. Adjustment of the spacing between the bars uses an eccentric crank operated by lever which cooperates with two manual latches on a rail at maximum and minimum spacing. A neck sweep bar is mounted on one gate and movable from a retracted position to a position forward of the squeeze bar across the head gate so as to engage the neck of the animal in front of the squeeze bar and to turn the neck and head. The head gate is held closed by front and rear abutment members each of which is formed as a roller which rotates to reduce friction under load. Each gate includes an upstanding torsion bar which twists when forces are applied to the squeeze bars from impact with the animal.

Animal Handling Device
Described herein is an animal handling device in the form of a cattle crush with automated headbail capture, back bar operation and positional sensing along with methods of use thereof. The crush and method offer automation for functions that in the art have been largely manual and inherently labour intensive, physical and even potentially dangerous for the operator and/or animal.

HEADLOCK TYPE BARRIER
Disclosed is a headlock-type barrier including: an upper pole and a lower pole; a pair of vertical uprights connected to the lower pole and to the upper pole so as to define a frame; a swing arm which pivots relative to the frame about a first transverse axis, the swing arm including an arm and a fork which is integral with an upper end of the arm, the fork including a pair of prongs arranged transversely one on either side of the upper pole, the swing arm including a rod rigidly connected to each of the prongs, the rod being arranged above the upper pole; a locking mechanism including a plate fixed to the upper pole and on which are hinged a first and a second stop wedge between a deployed position and a retracted position.

Livestock Chute with Both Parallel and V-Squeeze Capability, A Pull-Up Neck Extender and a Robust Head Gate Track
A livestock squeeze chute is operable in parallel-squeeze, V-squeeze and inverted-V squeeze configurations, and has a head gate with a novel guide track construction for robust rolling support of the gate panels, and a neck extender having uniquely positioned actuators that pull the neck extender upwardly into its working position. The squeeze panels are supported in suspended and hinged fashion from a set of movable supports that are displaceable laterally back and forth along a set of overhead support tracks. A pair of upper actuators are operable to move the hinged-equipped supports, and thereby relocate the tops of the squeeze panels, while a set of lower actuators are operable to relocate the bottom ends of the squeeze panels. The head gate's guide track uses two L-shaped bars and a cooperating U-channel to define a pair of enclosed channels in which roller carriages of the two gate panels are respectively received.
