EquiVest: an improved equine all weather protective garment
Embodiments for an improved horse, livestock, and other quadrupeds garment and method of use are disclosed. The EquiVest comprises a one-piece water-resistant vest having an open-oval-neckline with bib-tab design for slipping over the animal's head. Optionally, the garment includes hardware for attaching overlapping side panels. Coupled with the side panel attaching hardware, the bib-tab design provides side tabs with a hook-and-loop mechanism in a secure fit. The vest covers the top-line, both sides, abdominal area, center-front chest, and hind area to allow the horse to have complete ease of movement while maintaining a stable core body temperature.
COOLING STRUCTURE OR ASSEMBLY USING PHASE CHANGE MATERIAL
Cooling blankets for humans and animals including a plurality of chambers containing phase change material. The panels include upper and lower layers of weldable material with a plurality of linear welds connecting them and forming PCM chambers which extend across the panels in a generally linear, side-by-side arrangement. The panels further include fastener elements to connect adjacent panels and form a larger blanket. The shape and configuration of the panels and the PCM chambers allows them to be rolled for easy transportation and for charging.
HORSE COVERING USING MAGNETIC COUPLINGS
A horse covering using magnetic couplers is shown and described. The horse covering includes a blanket portion, having a front end, a rear end, and two sides. A first strap is secured to the rear end of the blanket portion. The first strap includes a first part of a magnetic coupler secured to the end of the first strap opposite the connection to the blanket portion. A second end of the magnetic coupler is secured to the blanket portion. A second strap secured to the front end of the blanket portion. The second strap has a first part of a magnetic coupler secured to the end of the second strap opposite the connection to the blanket portion. A second end of the magnetic coupler is secured to the blanket portion. The horse covering further includes two front leg straps one secured to each side of the blanket portion.
Protection apparatus and method
Exemplary embodiments herein describe accessory equipment for equestrian applications, and in particular a flexible protective wrap or boot for supporting and protecting the upper and lower leg of a horse, including the fetlock joint. When wrapped or fastened to a horse limb, the exemplary wrap can impact strength, friction surfaces, elongation, porosity, compression, breathability, water and moisture evaporation, elasticity, absorbency and cushioning. The wrapping structure may include improved limb support, general limb protection, and treatment for swollen legs, fetlock and pastern. Embodiments described herein may include limb protection in general and particularly during trailering and long transit in motor vehicles and trailers, cellulitis treatment, and providing compression that does not disrupt lymphatic flow and blood circulation when wrapping is applied.
Device for controlling the movement of an animal
A device for controlling an animal is provided, the device comprising a support to be worn by the animal; a first contact member mounted on the support and disposed in a position for contacting an electric fence when the device is being worn by the animal; a second contact member, mounted on the support and in electrical contact with the first contact member, the second contact member being disposed on the support to be in contact with the animal when the device is being worn by the animal; whereby, in use, an electrical current is conducted from the first contact member to the second contact member and an electric shock provided to the animal at the site of the second contact member when contact is made between the first contact member and an electric fence by the animal. The device is particularly suitable for controlling the movements of a horse or a pony. The device is preferably formed as a rug, blanket or a vest to be worn by the animal.
