DEVICE FOR COLLECTING BAGWORM SILK THREAD AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING LONG BAGWORM SILK THREAD

An object of the present invention is to develop: a method of efficiently producing a long bagworm silk thread without slack of reeling during collection while preventing a change in the spinning direction and the runaway of the bagworm from a rail, and alleviating a burden on the bagworm; and an apparatus for implementing the thread-producing method. Provided is an apparatus for producing a bagworm silk thread, including: a movable loop-shaped rail configured to move in the longitudinal direction and to be held by the legs of a bagworm; a fixator configured to fix the bagworm; and an adhesion controller configured to store an adhesion control solution for washing away or removing a gummy component from the bagworm silk thread spun on the movable loop-shaped rail, wherein the apparatus makes it possible to cumulate the bagworm silk thread spun on the movable loop-shaped rail.

METHOD FOR EVALUATING BIOFILM FORMATION, AND INVERTEBRATE FOR USE IN EVALUATING BIOFILM FORMATION

A method for evaluating biofilm formation on a medical device material in vivo using an invertebrate includes: a step of inserting the medical device material between a hypodermal portion and an intestinal tract of an invertebrate, a step of extracting the medical device material from the invertebrate, and a step of evaluating biofilm formation on the surface of the medical device material; the invertebrate is for use in this evaluation of the biofilm formation.

WARM WATER IMMERSION-BASED HATCHING METHOD OF SILKWORM EGGS

The present disclosure provides a warm water immersion-based hatching method of silkworm eggs, belonging to the technical field of sericulture production. In the present disclosure, a warm water treatment is conducted on silkworm eggs of a bivoltine silkworm variety in production, and a water temperature and an immersion time are optimized to ensure a higher hatching rate. The silkworm eggs are subjected to the warm water immersion at 48° C. to 51° C. for 15 s to 23 s to rapidly hatch the silkworm eggs without diapause. The method has a practical hatching rate reaching not less than 98%, with no adverse effect on a quality of silkworm cocoons, thereby achieving a same hatching effect as a hydrochloric acid hatching method but a low cost, simple operation, no need of hydrochloric acid, and green with no adverse effect on human beings and environment.

Exogenous gene expression vector, transformant discrimination marker, and transformant

This invention is intended to develop a promoter that can strongly induce marker gene expression throughout an embryo, so as to simply, efficiently, and accurately identify a transgenic insect at an early developmental stage, and to provide a gene expression vector into which such promoter has been incorporated as a transformant discrimination marker. Such exogenous gene expression vector comprises a polynucleotide comprising the nucleotide sequence as shown in SEQ ID NO: 1 as a promoter.

BAGWORM SILK THREAD COLLECTING METHOD

Developed and provided is a method of collecting a large amount of high-quality bagworm silk threads having no contaminant from bagworm nests in a convenient manner and at low cost. The habit of bagworms is utilized to allow a bagworm to build a nest using solvent-soluble substances or thermally meltable substances as nest materials, followed by dissolving or melting the nest materials to separate the nest material from the bagworm silk threads, whereby only pure bagworm silk threads constituting the bagworm nest can be obtained.
