The present invention provides a fishing spinning reel including a reel unit and a rotor that is rotatably supported by the reel unit. The reel unit includes: a body that has a side opening portion and in which a spool reciprocating device is housed and supported; a lid that closes the side opening portion; and a cover member mounted on a rear portion of the body. A handle shaft is rotatably supported by the body and the lid. In the rear portion of the body, a rear opening portion for receiving at least a part of a component of the spool reciprocating device and disposing the component on the rear side is formed. The cover member covers the rear opening portion and the component.

A rotor of a spinning reel for fishing has a cylindrical portion, a first rotor arm, a first bail support, a first coupling member, and a first cover. The cylindrical portion is mounted rotatably on a reel body. The first rotor arm extends forward radially outside the cylindrical portion. The first bail support is pivotably rotatable coupled to a tip of the first rotor arm. The first coupling member couples the first bail support to the first rotor arm and has an engaged portion. The first cover covers at least partially the first rotor arm and the first bail support and has an engaging portion that comes into engagement with the engaged portion of the first coupling member.

A fishing spinning reel that eliminates problems associated with line twist by providing a rotor adapted for both forward and reverse rotation wherein a drag assembly applies drag to the rotor to prevent the rotor from imparting twist on the line when in the winding mode. By enabling the rotor to rotate in a reverse direction with the application of drag the present invention prevents line twist when fighting a fish by allowing the rotor to rotate in a reverse direction and/or to remain stationary as the handle is cranked thereby preventing the rotor from imparting twist on the line.

A line roller for guiding a fishing line to a spool of a spinning reel for fishing includes a cylindrical guide member, a cylindrical bushing, a bearing and a rotation regulating part. The cylindrical guide member includes a guide surface configured to guide the fishing line on an outer circumferential surface thereof. The cylindrical bushing supports the inner circumferential surface of the guide member. The bearing includes an inner race, an outer race supporting the inner circumferential surface of the bushing, and a rolling element disposed between the inner race and the outer race, and rotatably supporting the bushing with respect to the base member. The rotation regulating part regulates relative rotation between the guide member and the bushing by being disposed on one of either the inner circumferential surface of the guide member or the outer circumferential surface of the bushing and contacting the other surface.

A meshed state between a drive gear and a pinion gear can be maintained with high accuracy, and rigidity of a reel body is increased. Entry of dust and water between a side opening portion and a lid member is prevented and tangling of a fishing line is avoided. A fishing spinning reel includes a lid member closing a side opening portion provided in a body and a handle shaft is rotatably supported by at least the lid member. A female screw portion is provided on the side opening portion, and a male screw portion is provided on the lid member. There are provided a drive gear, a pinion gear meshed with the drive gear, a front bearing rotatably supporting a front portion of the pinion gear, and a rear bearing rotatably supporting a rear portion thereof.

A spinning reel includes a handle, a housing, a rotor, a bail arm, a moving member and an abutting member. The bail arm is attached to the rotor and is pivotable between a first posture and a second posture. The moving member is positioned in a first position when the bail arm is in the first posture, moving member positioned in a second position behind the first position when the bail arm is in the second posture, and is rotatable together with the rotor. The abutting member is attached to the housing and abuts the moving member in the second position to move the moving member toward the first position. The returning device returns the bail arm to the first posture from the second posture when the moving member moves toward the first position from the second position.

A roller clutch includes an outer ring, an inner ring, a rollers, a torsion spring, and a housing member. The roller is disposed between the inner ring and the outer ring. The roller i configured to move between a transmitting position and a non-transmitting position. The spring biases the roller to the transmitting position. The housing member has a housing hole and an inner wall surface. The housing hole houses the torsion spring. The inner wall surface defines the housing hole and is configured to support the torsion spring.

A line roller for guiding a fishing line to a spool of a spinning reel for fishing includes a cylindrical guide member, a cylindrical bushing, a bearing and a rotation regulating part. The cylindrical guide member includes a guide surface configured to guide the fishing line on an outer circumferential surface thereof. The cylindrical bushing supports the inner circumferential surface of the guide member. The bearing includes an inner race, an outer race supporting the inner circumferential surface of the bushing, and a rolling element disposed between the inner race and the outer race, and rotatably supporting the bushing with respect to the base member. The rotation regulating part regulates relative rotation between the guide member and the bushing by being disposed on one of either the inner circumferential surface of the guide member or the outer circumferential surface of the bushing and contacting the other surface.

The moving member is positioned in a first position when the bail arm is in the first posture, moving member positioned in a second position behind the first position when the bail arm is in the second posture, and is rotatable together with the rotor. The abutting member is attached to the housing and abuts the moving member in the second position to move the moving member toward the first position. The returning device returns the bail arm to the first posture from the second posture when the moving member moves toward the first position from the second position.
