DUAL-BEARING REEL
A dual-bearing reel includes a reel unit, a spool shaft, a spool, and a brake device. The spool shaft is rotatably supported by the reel unit. The spool includes a bobbin trunk, a shaft mount and a coupling wall. The bobbin trunk includes an internal space. The shaft mount has a tubular shape, and is penetrated by the spool shaft. The coupling wall couples the bobbin trunk and the shaft mount. The brake device includes at least one magnet disposed in opposition to the coupling wall. The brake device brakes the spool by a magnetic force applied to the coupling wall from the at least one magnet.
SPOOL BRAKING DEVICE USING EDDY CURRENT AND FISHING REEL HAVING SAME
Provided are a spool braking device and a fishing reel equipped with the spool braking device. In the spool braking device, a magnet holder with a magnet moves toward an axial direction of a spool using eddy current and thus controls a rotational speed of the spool through a varying magnetic force acting on a braking plate of the spool. The spool braking device is capable of preventing a decrease in a distance a lure travels during casting when the spool is rotated at a low speed and preventing a backlash phenomenon through a braking operation suitable for high-speed rotation of the spool.
FISHING REEL WITH BRAKING ASSEMBLY
A fishing reel can include a cage assembly defining an opening to removably receive a spool and a spool positioned in the cage assembly operable to rotate about an axis of rotation. The reel can also include a crank coupled to the cage assembly and operable to rotate the spool when the crank is rotated. The reel can also include a braking assembly removably positioned on a side of the cage assembly opposite to the crank, the braking assembly including at least one magnet, the magnet having an arcuate shape that spans a braking arc length concentric with the axis of rotation, the braking arc length defined by an arc measure of at least about 90°.
MAGNETIC CASTING BRAKE
The magnetic casting brake hereof provides little magnetic brake force at the start of a cast by providing magnets on a curved cam able to rotate with the spool and move closer to the spool to achieve sufficient brake force to avoid a backlash. When the cast is finished, and one begins to retrieve the bait, the magnets rotate back to a minimum position so that retrieval will be lighter, and the feel of the lure will be increased. The casting brake will also include an off position to provide free spool.
Double bearing reel
A double bearing reel includes a spool braking device that rotatably supports a spool including a bobbin body on which a fishing line is wound and flange portions formed on both sides of the bobbin body between side plates of a reel body and that applies a braking force to the rotation of the spool, wherein the spool braking device includes a conductive annular body that rotates integrally with the spool and a magnet facing outer peripheral surface of the conductive annular body, and the conductive annular body and the magnet are disposed axially inward of an outer end surface of the flange portions and radially inward of the bobbin body.
Fishing reel having movable inertia brake
A fishing reel having a movable inertia brake including braking magnets and a brake pad is provided. The fishing reel maximizes the advantages of a centrifugal brake, a magnet brake, and an inertia brake of the related art, such as abrasion prevention, the ability to prevent a decrease in the flying distance in casting when a spool is rotated at a low speed, and the ability to be used compatibly for a left-handed or right-handed handle. The fishing reel includes a spool plate including a spool cam, a brake pad, and a movable cam. The spool cam is fitted to a hub of a spool to rotate together with the spool, and has a pressing portion protruding to one side such that a lowest point and a highest point are connected on an incline in a radial direction.
Fishing reel provided with fixed constant brake and movable inertial force brake
A fishing reel provided with a fixed constant brake and a movable inertial force brake is provided. In the fishing reel, a user may adjust a braking force to use according to his or her fishing method by utilizing only advantages of conventional centrifugal brakes, magnet brakes, and inertial force brakes, the advantages including prevention of pad wear, prevention of casting distance reduction and backlash when a spool rotates at a low speed, compatible use tailored to left-handed or right-handed handles, etc.
Magnetic braking mechanism, bait casting reel and fishing tool
Disclosed is a magnetic braking mechanism which includes a spool, a magnetic braking assembly arranged on a side of the spool, the magnetic braking assembly includes a magnet assembly for generating magnetic induction lines and a centrifugal adjusting assembly for automatically adjusting a spacing between the magnet assembly and an inner wall of the spool according to a rotation speed of the spool, so as to adjust range of the magnetic induction lines cut by the spool, thereby automatically adjusting magnitude of a braking force. The centrifugal adjusting assembly allows the magnet assembly to move close to or away from the inner wall of the spool in the radial direction, so as to control strength of the magnetic induction lines near the inner wall of the spool, thereby adjusting the magnitude of the breaking force. Further disclosed are a bait casting reel and a fishing tool.
