The present disclosure is to a fly fishing line and a method of making a fly fishing line. The method includes preparing a composition comprising a polymer resin, a co-polymer of silicone, and one or more other polymeric materials. The method includes applying the composition around an elongated core. The method also includes exposing the composition to conditions that form a coating around the elongated core thereby forming the fly-fishing line. The composition is a plastisol composition and the polymer resin is a polyvinyl chloride resin. The fly fishing lines include an elongated core a coating disposed around the elongated core. The coating comprises a polymer resin, a co-polymer of silicone, and one or more other polymeric materials.

The leader 10 for fly fishing includes a tippet section 11 to which a fly is tied, a butt section 12 to which a fly line is tied, and an intermediate section 13 provided between the tippet section 11 and the butt section 12. Herein, the butt section 12 is thicker than the tippet section 11. The intermediate section 13 includes a front tapered portion 13a having a thickness that gradually increases from the tippet section 11, a rear tapered portion 13b having a thickness that gradually increases from the butt section 12, and a thicker portion than the butt section 12.

FLY-FISHING FLOAT OR STRIKE INDICATOR AND ATTACHMENT METHODS
A fly fishing float and/or strike indicator is attached by an interference fit to a leader, by sliding the float up the leader to a thicker-diameter portion of the leader for a tight fit, and preferably a leader-compressing fit, between the leader and an axial bore in the float. A bore surface, that is non-compressible and/or less compressible than the leader, may be supplied as an insert around which a buoyant main body of the float is formed. The insert may also have features that prevent separation of the main body from the insert and that help transmit force on the main body to the bore surface for quick and efficient securement of the float to the leader by the interference fit.
