A SLAUGHTERED PIG PART PROCESSING PLANT WITH A PIG PART DESKINNER, AND A SLAUGHTERED PIG PART DESKINNER UNIT
A slaughtered pig part processing plant including a conveyor with at least one retaining assembly for a pig part and a pig part deskinner below the conveyor. The deskinner including a knife and a skin gripper, wherein the conveyor is configured for advancing the retaining assembly in a machine direction (T) past the deskinner. A deskinner carrier structure including one or more actuators for moving the deskinner between an upper position and a lower position. The knife and the skin gripper configured for engaging in the upper position skin (S) of the pig part suspended from the retaining assembly advanced to the deskinner by the conveyor, and to progressively cut off and remove the-skin (S) when moved to the lower position.
PRODUCTIVITY ENHANCEMENT APPARATUS FOR POWER OPERATED SKINNING EQUIPMENT
A shaping or cutting machine, especially a skinner, at which an operator hand-feeds material to be cut or shaped toward a blade. Hand proximity detection devices are provided for operator safety; machine-vision across a surveilled volume before the blade, and conduction sensing devices. The blade is mounted on a rapidly retractable frame. Power from release of a spring physically moves the blade to a safe position if a hand is sensed. A gripping roller is driven by a rapidly stoppable motor.
Method and apparatus for removing skin from animal parts
A method of mechanically removing skin from animal parts that have a bone part extending therein, including: moving the animal parts, suspended on shackles depending from an overhead conveyor, along a path of travel and cutting the part to separate the skin therefrom. The part moved into a skinning station in which the part is urged into engagement with skinning rolls. The skinning rolls are rotated and engage and draw the skin of the part therebetween. The skin is progressively pulled downwardly and away from underlying meat of the animal part as the part moved forwardly along its path of travel.

Multiple-level skinning apparatus
A skinning machine for any meat product, and particularly for poultry cuts. The machine includes two or more skinning stations, each of which may remove skin between a gripper and a closely-fit pinch block. The skinning stations are vertically distinct so that the first skinning station skins a first side of the product, and the second skinning station receives the product at a position lower vertically and skins the second side of the product. The product falls through a path between the two skinning stations to permit the product to rotate about one-half of a rotation. The product lands on a conveyor beneath the first skinning station that transports the product to the second skinning station facing the opposite direction from when it was in the first skinning station. By making the vertical drop sufficient, the poultry cut rotates the unskinned face down prior to skinning.
PRODUCT TRANSFER ROLLER
An apparatus 10 for removing the skin of poultry pieces at a skinning station 12 includes an infeed conveyor 14 for transporting or feeding poultry pieces to the skinning station 12. The infeed conveyor 14 includes an endless belt 16 that is trained around an end roller 18 at the downstream end of the infeed conveyor. A pinch block 20 is configured with a concave pinch surface 22 having curvature closely following the curvature of the endless belt 16 trained around the end roller 18 to define a narrow gap 24 therebetween for capturing the skin of the poultry piece and forcing the skin through the gap 24, thereby pulling the skin away from the underlying flesh of the poultry piece. A transfer roller 26 assists in transferring the skinned poultry piece to an outfeed conveyor 28. A hold down structure 30 is provided for applying downward pressure on the poultry piece as the poultry piece is carried by the infeed conveyor 14 towards the skinning station 12, while the poultry skin is being removed, and also while the skinned poultry piece is being transferred to the outfeed conveyor 28.
FEED ROLL FOR POWER OPERATED TRIMMING TOOL
A power-driven feed roll for rotation about a feed roll axis of rotation in a hand-held, power operated trimming tool, the feed roll including a cylindrical core having an inner surface defining a through bore and an outer surface including a central cylindrical recess bounded by a base and first and second radially extending side walls at opposite ends of the base and first and second flanking portions on either side of the cylindrical recess. The feed roll further includes an annular drive member formed over the cylindrical recess and integral with the cylindrical core, the annular drive member extending along the first and second radially extending side walls of cylindrical recess and protruding radially outwardly, an outer surface of the annular drive member defining a worm gear for driving the feed roll about the axis of rotation. The first and second flanking portions including annular sets of drive teeth.
