A detection unit configured to detect a leakage hole in an intestine suspended on a tubular member having a perforated portion that is configured to distribute a flow of liquid through the perforated portion and thereby pressurize the intestine, when the intestine is being moved with a non-zero velocity (V) along the longitudinal axis of the tubular member is disclosed. The detection unit comprises an electrically conducting and axially extending sleeve-shaped surrounding portion that at least partly surrounds the circumference of the tubular member and an electric circuitry arranged and configured to measure an electric quantity established between the surrounding portion and the liquid pressurizing the intestine.

Flow control systems and methods for controlling the flow of liquid into and out of a tubular member comprising a perforated portion that is configured to distribute a flow of liquid having a predefined fixed liquid pressure through the perforated portion to pressurize an intestine that is suspended on the tubular member is disclosed. The flow control system comprises a flow regulating valve having a slidably arranged valve structure arranged in a pressurized liquid filled water chamber and an elastic water-side diaphragm arranged in the water chamber and connected to the valve structure such that the water-side diaphragm allows the valve structure to be moved in a first direction along the longitudinal axis of the valve structure to increase the volume in the water chamber and be moved in the opposite direction to decrease the volume in the water chamber.

EVERSION DEVICE AND SMALL INTESTINE PROCESSING LINE

An eversion device for small intestine eversion and a small intestine processing line, includes a water tank formed by walls, has a first side wall and a second side wall. The eversion device includes at least one conveyor assembly arranged in one of the side walls of the tank. The conveyor assembly is configured to transport at least one small intestine along the side wall, and the tank is configured to overflow water over at least one part of an upper edge of the side wall that receives the conveyor assembly. A small intestine processing line has the aforementioned eversion device and includes at least one stool removal device with means to feed small intestines to the tank of the eversion device, and at least one mucosa removal device arranged posteriorly to the tank of the eversion device.

PULLING DEVICE

A pulling device used in the processing of small intestines of slaughtered animals, such as cattle, pigs and sheep includes a pulling device having at least one rotating wheel. Each rotating wheel has a first side, a second side and a circumferential surface defining a traction channel. Each rotating wheel is fixed on a shaft driven by a motor. The motor is supported on a base. The pulling device has at least one safety cover with a first portion and a second portion. The portions define a closed position, in which the portions cover the sides of the respective rotating wheel, and an open position, in which at least one of the portions is moved away from a respective side of the respective rotating wheel.
