Device and method for the condensation of a vapor in a vacuum chamber
A vacuum cooling device for the cooling of foodstuff, in particular hot bakery products comprises a vacuum chamber (2) containing a product chamber (7) for receiving the foodstuff for its cooling and a separation chamber (28), a vacuum source (3), such as a vacuum pump which is connected to the separation chamber (28) and a vapor condenser (4) for condensation of vapor generated during the cooling process in the product chamber. The vapor condenser comprises a cooling medium in a sump (11) and comprises a vapor introduction element (8, 9, 10) for introducing the vapor into the cooling medium.
Cooler with vacuum pump
A cooler with an insulated housing comprising an encircling wall, base and lid, the insulated housing defining a storage cavity and having an air channel communicating from the storage cavity to outside the insulated housing, the air channel being defined by channel walls and forming at least in part a cylinder; and a vacuum pump integral with the insulated housing, the vacuum pump comprising a piston arranged to reciprocate within the cylinder under manual control from outside of the insulated housing. A method including placing material within a storage cavity of an insulated cooler, the material having an average temperature different than an ambient temperature; closing a lid over the storage cavity; and operating a vacuum pump to reduce the air pressure within the storage cavity. A combination of the cooler and ice within the storage cavity.
REFRIGERATED PROCESSED FOODS OF EXTENDED DURABILITY AND METHOD FOR THE CONSERVATION THEREOF
Refrigerated Processed Foods of Extended Durability (KEPFED) with a pH value of at least 4.6 and whereby the REPFED at a temperature between 0 C. and 10 C. is free of vegetative Listeria monocytogenes and/or feacal streptococci and/or Clostridium Botulinum and Bacillus cereus which are killed and whereby the spores of said bacteria are at least fatally injured, such that the spores can no longer grow out vegetatively into the relevant bacteria. And a method (1) for preserving the aforementioned REPFEDs that are stored in refrigerators.
Preservation system for perishable products
As disclosed herein, a preservation system for perishable products in a display case comprises a control valve for connection to a water supply. A pressure regulator is connected to the control valve for reducing water pressure. A plurality of piezoelectric transducer nebulizers are operatively mounted to the display case in spaced apart relation to one another and are fluidically connected in series with an output of the pressure regulator to emit a dry fog. A control system comprises a controller for controlling a duty cycle of a pulse signal to vibrate the piezoelectric transducers in the plurality of nebulizers, and a timer for alternately generating an on and an off signal to periodically control the valve to supply water to the pressure regulator and to enable the controller whereby the nebulizers emit the dry fog to maintain desired relative humidity level throughout the display case.
ATMOSPHERE CONTROL IN TRANSPORT UNIT
Methods, systems and apparatuses to help control atmosphere in a storage space, such as for example a storage space of a transport unit are disclosed. Generally, the embodiments herein are directed to provide a desired amount of nitrogen to the storage space to replace oxygen and carbon dioxide while removing the same amount of air from the storage space, which can help maintain a pressure balance between the storage space and the ambient atmosphere. Air directed out of the storage space and ambient air can be directed through an air separation device to separate a nitrogen portion. The nitrogen portion can be directed back to the storage space.
VACUUM COOLING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE VACUUM COOLING OF FOODSTUFF
A vacuum cooling device for the cooling of foodstuff, in particular hot bakery products comprises a vacuum chamber, which contains a product chamber for receiving the foodstuff for its cooling and a separation chamber, a vacuum source, which is connected with the product chamber or the separation chamber and a vapor condenser for condensation of vapor containing discharge air generated during the cooling process in the product chamber. The vapor condenser is arranged below the product chamber, whereby the vapor condenser can contain a cooling medium, if the vacuum cooling device is in the operating state. The vapor condenser comprises a cooling medium distribution device to distribute the cooling medium in the vapor condenser. The product chamber comprises at least an opening for supplying the vapor containing discharge air into the cooling medium.
Storage device for fresh products, and tablet and method therefor
The present invention relates to a storage device for fresh products and/or perishable produce and a method for storing fresh products, comprising: a cabinet provided with an access door and/or flap; one or more substantially gastight compartments arranged in the cabinet and provided with at least one gas inlet and one gas outlet; and conditioning means suitable for conditioning the climate in the compartment, wherein the conditioning comprises of providing desired gas conditions, including oxygen content.
CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
A method for obtaining a desired atmosphere within an interior space during an initial startup phase of a CAS is provided. The method includes a controller starting the CAS while keeping the air compressor OFF. The method also includes the controller calculating an atmosphere change rate while the air compressor OFF, and determining whether the interior space can reach a desired atmosphere set point with the air compressor OFF based on the atmosphere change rate. Further, the method includes the controller maintaining the air compressor OFF until the interior space reaches the desired atmosphere set point when the controller determines that the interior space can reach the desired atmosphere set point with the air compressor OFF, and switching the air compressor ON when the controller determines that the interior space cannot reach the desired atmosphere set point with the air compressor OFF.
