COMPOSITIONS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ELECTROLYTIC TREATMENT OF MYCOTOXIN, GLYPHOSATE, AND MICROBIAL CONTAMINATION

Compositions, methods, systems and equipment capable of significantly reducing glyphosate, microbial, mycotoxin and other contaminant levels in various food commodities, such as, but not limited to, grains (e.g., corn, wheat, oats barley, rye, sorghum, millet, rice, etc.), nuts, seeds, and other agricultural products, are described. A contaminant treatment fluid suitable for use in reducing contaminant levels in foods may include an electrolyzed carrier fluid having a reductive potential with an oxidizer, a carbohydrate, and a sulfonic acid functional group-containing compound. Contacting food commodities with the contaminant treatment fluid reduces contaminant levels in the food commodity.

VIBRATING SHAKER TRAY DISINFECTANT DEVICE THAT USES ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT

A disinfectant device provides a solution to disinfect bulk quantities of small items such as food items. The disinfectant device has a housing, an inlet, an outlet, a shaker tray positioned to descend from a first height on the inlet side to a second height on the outlet side, the second height lower than the first height, wherein the shaker tray is configured to shake or vibrate via a motor, and at least one disinfecting light is positioned within the housing and above the shaker tray, the light configured to disinfect items passing on the shaker tray. The disinfectant device may have a hopper having a gate to the shaker tray. The gate may be manually operated or actuated by a motor to control the number of items on the shaker tray at any given time, thereby ensuring adequate exposure to the disinfecting light.

The present disclosure relates to an air modifying device for extending the shelf life of a fresh product and to methods of extending the shelf life of fresh products. Certain embodiments of the present disclosure comprise an air modifying device for extending shelf life of a fresh product. The device comprises a hollow body, one or more means for moving air or a gas through the hollow body, a surface within the hollow body, the surface comprising a metal oxide, and a source of UV light within the body to direct UV light onto the surface comprising the metal oxide, wherein irradiation of the metal oxide with the UV light modifies the air or gas moved through the device so that release of the modified air or gas from the device into the atmosphere around the fresh product extends the shelf life of the fresh product.

DESTRUCTION OF AIRBORNE PATHOGENS, AND MICROORGANISMS ON GRAINS AND DRIED FOOD USING ULTRASOUND
20210392911 · 2021-12-23 · ·

An acoustic apparatus and method for using a combination of low-frequency and high-frequency vibration of dried food, grain being an example, such that there are a large number of collisions among the individual grain particles for destroying microorganisms that reside on the surface or just below the surface of the grain, are described. Embodiments of the invention permit bulk and continuous processing of the food. It is expected that such collisions do not produce any chemical changes in the food, nor should it have any adverse effects on the taste thereof. Embodiments of the apparatus are applicable to destruction of airborne microorganisms.
