COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING FOOD PRODUCTS WITH RECOMBINANT ANIMAL PROTEIN
The invention relates to methods and compositions for the recombinant production of animal protein for use in animal food, particularly pet food.
FISH FEED PELLETS LOADED WITH A MICROBIAL OIL
The present invention relates to a quick-sinking fish feed in the form of pellets. It has been found that pellets, the diameter of which is <4 mm, have difficulty in sinking, especially in the cold time of the year when the density of water is at its maximum. The reason why the feed does not sink is its low intrinsic weight and the too high surface tension. If the fish does not have time to catch the feed, the pellets will be moved by the waves of the sea through the meshes out into the free water. This problem can be solved by loading or coating the fish feed pellets with an oil comprising at least 10% microbial oil.

PET FOOD
Provided is a weight-control pet food that is used for the purpose of controlling body weight while diminishing loss of muscle mass that has a water content of less than (25)% and that has with respect to the total mass of the pet food a protein content of (20) mass % or more in terms of dry matter and an isolated soybean protein content of (5)-(30) mass % in terms of dry matter.
Pet Kibble and Method to Make Pet Kibble
A pet kibble containing from about 20 to 35 wt. % total protein, from about 10 to 15 wt. % edible fat, and from about 10 to 15 wt. % edible fiber. About 70 to 100 wt. % of the protein is plant-sourced. About 3 to 10 wt. % of edible fat is a combination of omega-6 and omega-3 oils. The pet kibble is essentially free of gluten, milk products, peanuts, tree nuts and wheat. The pet kibble is made by an extrusion process that includes flash baking the extrudate, wherein the flash baking is done at from about 450 to 525° F. for from about 30 to 50 seconds.

Food Composition and Method of Use
The current invention relates to relates to methods of improving commensals in an animal by feeding the animal with a diet including quinoa grain. The quinoa grain is in an amount effective to increase parameters for commensals such as the percentage of lactobacillus in total microbiota, the percentage of bifidobacteria in total microbiota, the percentage of clostridium in total microbiota, and the firmicutes to bacteroidetes ratio. The current invention also relates to pet food compositions that include effective amount of quinoa grain to increase the commensals parameters. In addition, the methods of making such a food compositions are also disclosed.
