METHODS OF TREATMENT USING PURIFIED (DECOLORIZED) ALOE VERA LEAF DRY JUICE
Disclosed herein is a method for improving the health of animal or human microflora using aloe vera. A method of purifying decolorized dried aloe vera leaf juice is also disclosed. The method may include removing an aloe vera leaf from an aloe vera plant, washing and/or sanitizing the leaf, and grinding the leaf into a slurry and subsequently purifying with activated carbon. The method may remove pigmented substances including the undesirable phenolic compounds present in aloe vera latex, and in particular the anthrones aloin A and aloin B, aloesin (a chromone) and aloe-emodin (an anthraquinone). Following purification, the liquid juice may then be spray-dried to form a final dry juice powder.
PARTICULATE PRODUCTS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF
The present invention relates to a process for the production of an agglomerated particulate product containing one or more flavorant(s) and/or odorant(s). By spraying with certain binders, the storage stability of the particulate product is significantly improved, and the flavorant(s) and/or odorant(s) are protected, in particular, from oxidation. The present invention also relates to particulate products containing one or more flavorant(s) and/or odorant(s), preferably produced by a process according to the invention, and to the use of certain substances for improving the storage stability of particulate products containing one or more flavorant(s) and/or odorant(s).
SOLID SOLUTION MADE FROM GUM ARABIC AND AT LEAST ONE LIPOSOLUBLE ACTIVE SUBSTANCE
Solid solution of gum arabic and at least one liposoluble active ingredient having particles of a size of less than 100 .Math.m and a weight ratio of gum arabic to liposoluble active ingredients of 5:1 to 200:1, obtainable by drying an aqueous solution of gum arabic to achieve a fine-particle dry product; admixing the dry product with a solution or dispersion of the liposoluble active ingredient(s) in an anhydrous solvent in which gum arabic is insoluble; mixing in the solution while homogenizing and further comminuting the dry product to a particle size of less than 100 .Math.m; and removing the solvent at a temperature of less than 70° C., as well as method for the preparation of the solution and the aqueous suspension containing it.
