METHOD FOR ROASTING COFFEE BEANS
The invention concerns a method to determine the roasting recipe R.sub.blend for roasting a customised blend of coffee beans C.sub.A, C.sub.B, . . . introduced in a chamber of a roasting apparatus, said recipe R.sub.blend providing the temperature T@t1, T@t2, . . . to be applied at discrete successive times t.sub.1, t.sub.2, . . . , respectively, said method comprising the steps of:—obtaining for each type of coffee beans C.sub.n comprised in said blend at least:. the type C.sub.n of said type of coffee beans, and. the quantity m.sub.n of said type of coffee beans C.sub.n introduced in the chamber, and—based on the obtained type C.sub.n, getting access at least to:. roasting recipes RM.sub.A, RM.sub.B, . . . of the different types of coffee beans C.sub.A, C.sub.B, . . . respectively, and. temperature adaptation factors K.sub.A, K.sub.B, . . . of said different types of coffee beans C.sub.A, C.sub.B, . . . respectively of the customised blend, and—based on the obtained quantities m.sub.n of the different coffee beans C.sub.n and the accessible roasting recipes RM.sub.n and temperature factors K.sub.n, determining the roasting recipe R.sub.blend to be applied to said customised blend of coffee beans introduced inside the chamber.
METHOD FOR DRYING A SMOKE FILTER UNIT
The invention concerns a method for drying at least one cell of the electrostatic precipitator of a smoke treating unit in a system of a coffee beans roasting apparatus and a smoke treating unit, said method comprising the step of passing hot air through said cell, while said cell is positioned inside the electrostatic precipitator and while said cell is switched off.
ROASTING SYSTEM
A roasting system is provided in a form factor of a countertop roasting device including a blower and a roasting assembly in fluid communication with the blower. The roasting assembly receives air from the blower with a heating element of the roasting assembly producing a heated air stream fed through the roasting assembly. A food product is received in a container of the roasting assembly, with the heated air stream roasting the food product. The system includes a microphone and a controller that adjusts operating characteristics of the system based on whether a shell of the food product has cracked during roasting, as determined with the microphone. A waste product from the food product is separated during roasting and collected in a waste collection assembly with a spray bar assisting with smoke suppression.

A device for use in a process for roasting coffee beans comprises measuring means (10) for performing measurements of an actual value of particulate matter emission from the coffee beans during a process of roasting the coffee beans, and controlling means (20) coupled to the measuring means (10) for receiving the outcome of the measurements from the measuring means (10), wherein the controlling means (20) are adapted to find a pattern of the particulate matter emission over time on the basis of the outcome of the measurements, to determine an actual roasting degree of the coffee beans on the basis of the pattern, and to determine and set at least one characteristic of the roasting process on the basis of the roasting degree.
Method for controlling a process of roasting coffee beans and device for use in a process for roasting coffee beans
A device for use in a process for roasting coffee beans comprises measuring means (10) for performing measurements of an actual value of particulate matter emission from the coffee beans during a process of roasting the coffee beans, and controlling means (20) coupled to the measuring means (10) for receiving the outcome of the measurements from the measuring means (10), wherein the controlling means (20) are adapted to find a pattern of the particulate matter emission over time on the basis of the outcome of the measurements, to determine an actual roasting degree of the coffee beans on the basis of the pattern, and to determine and set at least one characteristic of the roasting process on the basis of the roasting degree.
ROASTING AND GRINDING APPARATUS FOR COFFEE BEANS
The invention relates to a roasting and grinding apparatus for coffee beans comprising a roasting device (50) and an associated grinding device (60); the roasting device (50) being configured for receiving coffee beans of a certain type that will be roasted, the roasting device (50) comprising reading means (53) to identify the characteristics of the coffee beans dispensed to it, the roasting device (50) further comprising a control unit configuring the roasting profile of the beans according to the characteristics retrieved from the reading means (53) and/or from the characteristics of the beans in a database (51) in this control unit and/or according to the user’s input; the roasted coffee beans being dispensed into a beans container (10, 20), the beans container (10, 20) comprising programmable identification means where product parameters of the roasted coffee beans of a certain type are encoded on it by an encoder (52) in the roasting device; the grinding device (60) comprising one or more housings for receiving one or more beans containers (10, 20); the grinding device (60) comprising a reader (62) to obtain the information of the product parameters of the roasted coffee beans of the one or more beans containers (10, 20); the grinding device (60) further comprising a control unit configured to adapt the grinding size and the quantity of roasted coffee beans to be delivered from the coffee beans containers (10, 20) for obtaining a certain coffee quantity and/ or a certain coffee blend quantity from each beans container to be grinded according to these product parameters and/or according to a recipes database (64), and/or according to the user’s input. The invention further relates to a method for roasting and grinding coffee beans using a roasting and grinding apparatus as the ones described, and to the use of such a roasting and grinding apparatus.
APPARATUS FOR ROASTING COFFEE BEANS AND FOR COLLECTING COFFEE CHAFFS
The invention relates to an apparatus (1) for more convenient roasting of coffee. The apparatus (1) in particular facilitates an improved means for collecting the chaffs of the so roasted coffee beans to make the removal of the roasted coffee beans from the apparatus (1) more convenient, in particular when the apparatus (1) is used as a home appliance apparatus. The apparatus (1) is for roasting coffee beans and for collecting chaffs of the so roasted coffee beans. The apparatus (1) comprises: a chamber (10) in which coffee beans can be received for roasting, the chamber (10) comprising an opening (12) for accessing the chamber (10) in order to at least remove coffee beans from the chamber (10), and a chaffs collector (50) for collecting chaffs of the coffee beans, which are roasted by the chamber (10). The chaffs collector (50) is moveably arranged with respect to a specific movement axis in order to be moved between a closed position, in which the chaffs collector (50) covers the opening (12) of the chamber (10) for roasting the coffee beans, and an open position, in which the chaffs collector (50) does not cover the opening (12) of the chamber (10) so that the chamber (10) is accessible via the opening (12) for removing coffee beans from the chamber (10).
APPARATUS FOR ROASTING COFFEE BEANS AND FOR COLLECTING COFFEE CHAFFS
The invention relates to an apparatus (1) for more convenient roasting of coffee. The apparatus (1) in particular facilitates an improved means for collecting the chaffs of the so roasted coffee beans to make the removal of the roasted coffee beans from the apparatus (1) more convenient, in particular when the apparatus (1) is used as a home appliance apparatus. The apparatus (1) is for roasting coffee beans and for collecting chaffs of the so roasted coffee beans. The apparatus (1) comprises: a chamber (10) in which coffee beans can be received for roasting, the chamber (10) comprising an opening (12) for accessing the chamber (10) in order to at least remove coffee beans from the chamber (10), and a chaffs collector (50) for collecting chaffs of the coffee beans, which are roasted by the chamber (10). The chaffs collector (50) is moveably arranged with respect to a specific movement axis in order to be moved between a closed position, in which the chaffs collector (50) covers the opening (12) of the chamber (10) for roasting the coffee beans, and an open position, in which the chaffs collector (50) does not cover the opening (12) of the chamber (10) so that the chamber (10) is accessible via the opening (12) for removing coffee beans from the chamber (10).
AN ON-SITE COFFEE ROASTING SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF
It is the object of the present invention to present a coffee roaster, comprising: a resonant cavity, a heating unit, comprising: (i) at least one microwave oscillator and (ii) at least one beam-steerer, a sensing unit; and a control unit configured to control the microwave oscillator and the bean-steerer and receive data from the sensing unit.
APPARATUS FOR ROASTING COFFEE BEANS
The invention relates to an apparatus (1) for simpler sensing the temperature in roasting of coffee. The apparatus (1) is provided for roasting coffee beans and comprises: a chamber (10) in which coffee beans can be received for roasting, and a device (80) for roasting the coffee beans received in the chamber (10). The chamber (10) is delimited by at least a bottom (11) and a sidewall (12) extending from the bottom (11), wherein the sidewall (12) comprises an outer side (121) oriented to face away from the chamber (10), and wherein a temperature sensor (90) is provided at the outer side (121) of the sidewall (12) for sensing a temperature inside of the chamber (10).
