APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR PREPARING LIVESTOCK FEED
The present disclosure relates to livestock feed sorting assemblies and methods of using same. In particular, assemblies and methods find use in preparing feed rations for livestock, such as dairy cattle and beef cattle.
APPARATUS FOR AND METHOD OF STEAM TREATING OF PLANT FIBRES
An apparatus for steam treating plant fibres is provided, the apparatus comprising: a steam manifold that is adapted to receive steam from a steam source and to distribute steam to a plurality of lances, the lances being configured to deliver steam into the interior volume of a batch of plant fibres; a temperature sensor for sensing a temperature of the batch of plant fibres, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a signal from the temperature sensor, and to control the supply of steam to the lances to raise the temperature of the plant fibres to a target temperature. A method of steaming plant fibres is also provided.
Setting degree of maceration based on forage nutritive values
A method of preparing a feed ration for an animal includes storing a cut crop material in an accumulation having an oxygen barrier. The cut crop material is fermented within the accumulation to form a silage material. A nutritive value of the silage material is determined with a nutrition sensor. A desired amount of maceration of the silage material is determined based on the determined nutritive value of the silage material. The silage material is then macerated with a mechanical macerator to achieve the desired amount of maceration. The macerated silage material is then combined with other feed materials to define the feed ration, and may then be fed to the animal.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREPARING A FEED RATION BASED ON DEGREE OF MACERATION
A method of preparing a feed ration for an animal includes determining an initial nutritive value of a forage material, and then macerating the forage material with a mechanical macerator. An actual amount of maceration of the forage material achieved by the mechanical macerator is then determined with a macerator sensor. The initial nutritive value may then be corrected to define a corrected nutritive value that accounts for the change in digestibility of the forage material caused by maceration. A formulation for the feed ration may then be defined or determined based on the corrected nutritive value of the forage material.
PROCESSING APPARATUS, PROCESSING METHOD, AND POWDER BODY
Provided is a processing apparatus for processing water-containing organic matters. The processing apparatus includes: a processing tank configured to store the water-containing organic matters; a stirring unit configured to stir the water-containing organic matters; a heater configured to heat the processing tank; an exhaust unit configured to exhaust gas from the processing tank at a rate from 1 m.sup.3/min to 300 m.sup.3/min; and an ion gas supply unit configured to supply ion gas into the processing tank with the exhaustion of the gas from the interior of the processing tank, the ion gas having an ion density of at least 2,000,000 pcs/cc, wherein the heater heats an interior of the processing tank while the stirring unit stirs the water-containing organic matters, and the ion gas is supplied into the processing tank according to the exhaustion by the exhaust unit, whereby processing the water-containing organic matters.
METHOD AND APPARATUS OF PREPARING OF A SILAGE GOOD AND ENSILING PROCESS
The invention refers to a method of preparing of a silage good having improved quality, to an ensiling process employing the method or the silage good, and an apparatus of preparing of a silage good having improved quality.
System and method for distributing and compressing crop material for ensilage
In one aspect, a method for compressing crop material for ensilage may include monitoring, with a computing device, a location of a work vehicle within a silage heap as the work vehicle traverses a layer of crop material within the silage heap. The method may also include determining, with the computing device, a current density of the layer of crop material as the work vehicle traverses the layer of crop material. Furthermore, the method may include controlling, with the computing device, an operation of the work vehicle based on the monitored location and the determined current density such that the work vehicle compresses the layer of crop material.
MOISTURE ADDITION SYSTEMS FOR FEED MATERIALS AND RELATED METHODS
Embodiments include moisture addition systems and methods. In an embodiment, a system includes a vessel defining an interior volume, a fluid supply system to add fluid into the vessel, a first moisture sensor, and a control module. The first moisture sensor is configured to measure the moisture content of a material within the vessel, such as a total mixed ration (TMR). The first moisture sensor can include a microwave moisture sensor. The control module is configured to control the fluid supply system. The control module controls the amount and rate at which fluid is added to the vessel. The control module is configured to receive a signal regarding the moisture content within the vessel from the first moisture sensor. The amount or rate at which fluid is added can be varied based on the moisture content within the vessel. Other embodiments are also included herein.
