GREEN TEA-CONTAINING BEVERAGE, METHOD FOR PREVENTING DISCOLORATION OF GREEN TEA-CONTAINING BEVERAGE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GREEN TEA-CONTAINING BEVERAGE
Provided is a green tea-containing beverage including: (A) green tea; (B) at least one selected from the group consisting of phytic acid, tartaric acid, and gluconic acid; and (C) at least one selected from the group consisting of ascorbic acid, a salt of ascorbic acid, erythorbic acid, and a salt of erythorbic acid, wherein the green tea-containing beverage has a copper content of 0.3 mg/L or more. Preferably, the concentration of the constituent (B) is 0.05-2.5 g/L. Preferably, the concentration of the constituent (C) is 0.2-5 g/L. Preferably the green tea-containing beverage further includes alcohol. Also provided is a method for preventing discoloration of a green tea-containing beverage, the method including: incorporating the constituents (B) and (C) in the green tea-containing beverage; and further incorporating copper so as to give the copper content of 0.3 mg/L or more.

Described herein is a sugar-depleted fruit or vegetable juice product, wherein said juice product is a fruit or vegetable juice or juice-retaining fruit or vegetable derived matter, wherein said juice product contains at least about 5 g/l gluconic acid and said juice product contains any two or three, of (i) at least about 0.5 g/l Ca.sup.2+, (ii) at least about 1 g/l K.sup.+, and (iii) at least about 0.1 g/l Mg.sup.2+. Also provided are methods of producing the same and the use thereof to assist in maintaining the health and well-being of a subject and in the treatment and prevention of medical ailments, specifically those associated with the over-consumption of glucose and/or sucrose or inappropriate metabolism of glucose, e.g. metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus type II, obesity, dyslipidemia, insulin resistance, hypertension and liver steatosis.

NOVEL GLUCOSE OXIDASE COMPOSITIONS
Glucose oxidase and further compositions are described. The glucose oxidase compositions have glucose oxidase and at least one ingredient selected from one or more of carbohydrate (e.g. dietary fiber or saccharide), polyol or sugar alcohol while further compositions are sweeteners, food, compositions for fortification of food, nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals. The compositions incorporate low glycemic index nutritive compound of glycemic index less than 70, preferably less than 50, and are in the form of powders, granules, crystalline compositions, flours, pills, tablets, capsules, pellets, powder for oral suspensions, gels, liquid solutions and suspensions, and sterile preparations. Glucose oxidase and further compositions are described.
