A dietary supplement composition has a dispersion including a plurality of liposomal vesicles. The dietary supplement composition includes an active ingredient including one or more hydrophobic nutrient, such as cannabinoid or cannabinoid compound (cannabinoid), and phospholipid contained in the liposomal vesicles. The cannabinoid, which may be combined with cyclodextrin, is incorporated within the liposomal vesicles. The dietary supplement composition may further include one or more of rice bran extract, mannitol and trehalose. A method of preparing such dietary supplement composition includes generating a cannabinoid phase, generating an phospholipid phase, adding the cannabinoid phase and the phospholipid phase in vessel; performing a homogenizing step by mixing the cannabinoid phase and the phospholipid phase so as to form a cannabinoid-phospholipid composition having a plurality of liposomal vesicles having the cannabinoid incorporated therein, wherein the concentration of cannabinoid in the cannabinoid-phospholipid composition is about 10 to 25 mass %.

The present invention further includes methods of making and using the solid glass matrix delivery vehicle of the invention.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a trehalose-rich yeast extract, said method comprising a step in which yeast cells are enzymatically disrupted by use of one or more proteases. The present invention further relates to a novel trehalose-rich yeast extract obtainable by the method of the invention. The novel trehalose-rich yeast extract comprises an amount of at least 15% (w/w) trehalose, based on dry matter. The invention also relates to the use of the novel trehalose-rich yeast extract as an additive in a cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food or beverage product.

Heat-treated, shelf-stable liquid nutritional compositions comprising whey protein and non-whey protein, and methods of producing and using these compositions. The compositions have a pH of from about 6.0 to about 8.0, a total protein content of at least about 6 g per 100 mL of the composition. The whey protein comprises or is provided by an ingredient that comprises heat-denaturable protein of which at least about 55% is present in a denatured state, and the non-whey protein comprises or consists of casein, or one or more non-dairy proteins, or casein and one or more non-dairy proteins.
