HOLLOW AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE WITH TUBULAR SUBSTRATE LAYERS
An aerosol-generating article is provided, including: a first tubular aerosol-forming substrate layer defining a cylindrical hollow central core; and a second tubular aerosol-forming substrate layer arranged around the first tubular aerosol-forming substrate layer, the first tubular aerosol-forming substrate layer being a gel layer. A method of manufacturing an aerosol-generating article, a method of generating an aerosol, and an aerosol-generating system are also provided.
A Smoking Article with a Heated Segment Comprising a Tobacco Product
The invention relates to a smoking article with a distal end and a mouth end, that extends in a circumferential direction and a longitudinal direction to form a cylindrical shape. Along the longitudinal direction from the distal to the mouth end at least one heated segment comprising tobacco or reconstituted tobacco binder (RTB), at least one cooling segment comprising a cylindrically shaped cooler material and a filter segment are arranged. The three sections create a flow path from the distal to the mouth end, wherein the heated segment, the cooling segment and the filter segment are at least in part enclosed by a first wrapper. The heated segment comprises at least one second wrapper. A smoking article is characterized in that the second wrapper is coated with a tobacco product comprising tobacco particles having an average particle size of 30 μm and a dispersion medium for dispersing the tobacco particles.
MACHINE AND METHOD FOR MAKING A SUB-UNIT OF A SMOKING ARTICLE
A machine for making sub-units of smoking articles includes a conveyor, a feed unit and an applicator. The conveyor conveys a succession of tubular segments transversely along a conveying direction. The feed unit feeds and conveys a continuous web and advances the web along a feed direction parallel to the conveying direction of the tubular segments so that the web faces respective application ends of the tubular segments. The applicator is movable along an application direction parallel to an axis of predominant extension of the succession of tubular segments and is configured to engage the web so as to separate respective closing elements from it. The applicator is also configured to apply the closing element internally or externally on an application end of a respective tubular segment in such a way as to form a closing wall to at least partly close the application end.
TOBACCO ROD FOR FLAVOR INHALER
The present invention provides a tobacco rod for a flavor inhaler, including a plurality of rod-shaped segments connected to one another, in which each of the segments includes a cylindrical container and a flavor source including tobacco filled in the cylindrical container, the flavor source being filled in such a manner as to form, over a longitudinal direction, a channel for causing a flavor component to pass therethrough, and the channels of the segments are discontinuously connected at the connecting portion.
AEROSOL GENERATING ARTICLE COMPRISING A HOLLOW ROD OF AEROSOL GENERATING SUBSTRATE
An aerosol-generating article is provided for producing an inhalable aerosol when heated, the aerosol-generating article including: a hollow cylindrical rod of aerosol-generating substrate; a wrapper circumscribing the hollow cylindrical rod; and a hollow tube extending along a longitudinal axis of the hollow cylindrical rod and defining a central airflow channel of the aerosol-generating article, the hollow tube including a plurality of openings extending through a wall of the hollow tube, such that the aerosol-generating substrate in the hollow cylindrical rod is in fluid communication with the central airflow channel through the plurality of openings, and such that a ratio between a cumulative cross-sectional area of the plurality of openings and a cross-sectional area of the central airflow channel is from about 0.042 to about 0.672.
