Tongue and tongue assembly with injection port for rod forming apparatus, rod forming apparatus with tongue assembly and method of installing tongue assembly on rod forming apparatus
The tongue includes a shaft, the shaft being hollow. The shaft includes a first end and a second end, the first end defining a first opening with a first radius of curvature, and the second end defining a second opening with a second radius of curvature. The first radius of curvature is larger than the second radius of curvature. The shaft defines at least one injection port that traverses through an inner surface of the shaft. A first plate is connected to the shaft. The first plate includes an engaging structure configured to mount the tongue onto a lower plate and align the shaft with a groove defined by the lower plate. The rod forming apparatus includes the tongue. The method installs the tongue onto the rod forming apparatus.
An Article
The present invention relates to an article (10). The article comprises an aerosol-generating substrate (12) and a region (14) positioned longitudinally relative to the aerosol generating substrate. The region comprises a rod segment (16) formed from a plurality of elongate strips (17) of sheet material (18) extending longitudinally through said rod segment. The present invention also relates to a segment of sheet material for a rod segment. The segment of sheet material comprises a segment of a web (44) of sheet material (18) of discrete length comprising a plurality of elongate strips (17) and a band (22) of sheet material extending transversely to the plurality of elongate strips. The plurality of elongate strips extend from the band of sheet material. The present invention also relates to an apparatus (40) for manufacturing rod segments and a method of forming a rod segment.
METHOD OF MAKING TOBACCO ROD USING TONGUE OF COMPRESSION BOX
The method includes transporting tobacco into and through a shaft of a tongue of a compression box, and compressing the tobacco into a tobacco rod as the tobacco is transported through the compression box, the compression box including a first plate, a first portion of the first plate being formed over an upper portion of the shaft, the first portion running along a majority of a longitudinal length of the shaft.
Apparatus and method for filling rods with beaded substrate
A system for portioning a beaded substrate in a rod. The system includes a suction conveyor belt. The suction conveyor belt includes a belt suction chamber, a first belt end, and a second belt end, the second belt end opposite and downstream of the first belt end. The system also includes a metering device configured to provide the beaded substrate to the suction conveyor belt, and more specifically to the first belt end. The metering device includes a reach and a hopper. The metering device may provide the beaded substrate to the first belt end prior to the suction conveyor belt biasing a filler material onto the first belt end. The system may further includes a cutting mechanism that cooperates with the metering device to position the beaded substrate a first distance away from a first cut end.
INDUCTIVELY HEATABLE AEROSOL-FORMING RODS AND SHAPING DEVICE FOR USAGE IN THE MANUFACTURING OF SUCH RODS
An inductively heatable aerosol-forming rod for an aerosol-generating article is provided, including a first cylindrical core portion including at least one of a first aerosol-forming substrate and a first flavoring material; a second cylindrical core portion separate from the first core portion including at least one of a second aerosol-forming substrate and a second flavoring material; at least one elongate susceptor laterally abutting the first and the second core portions in a non-bond manner such that the susceptor is sandwiched between the first and the second core portions; a sleeve portion arranged around the first and the second core portions and the susceptor, and including at least one of a filler material, a third aerosol-forming substrate, and a third flavoring material. A shaping device for manufacturing of the rods is also provided, including a core-forming device, a first sleeve-forming device, a second sleeve-forming device, and a longitudinal guide.
INDUCTIVELY HEATABLE AEROSOL-FORMING RODS AND SHAPING DEVICE FOR USAGE IN THE MANUFACTURING OF SUCH RODS
An inductively heatable aerosol-forming rod for an aerosol-generating article is provided, including one cylindrical core portion including a first aerosol-forming substrate; at least one elongate susceptor laterally abutting the cylindrical core portion in a non-bonded manner along a longitudinal axis of the aerosol-forming rod; and a sleeve portion arranged around the cylindrical core portion and the susceptor, the sleeve including at least one of a filler material and a second aerosol-forming substrate. A shaping device for manufacturing the inductively heatable aerosol-forming rods is also provided, the shaping device including a core-forming device, a sleeve-forming device, and a longitudinal guide.
SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A TUBULAR ELEMENT FOR USE WITH AN AEROSOL GENERATING ARTICLE
A system, apparatus and method of manufacturing a tubular element (500) for use in an aerosol generating article. The tubular element (500) may comprise gel (124), or comprise a porous medium (125) loaded with gel (124), or comprise thread loaded with gel (214), or comprise a combination thereof.
CIGARETTE-MAKING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CIGARETTES
A method of producing cigarettes in a cigarette machine provides that separated tobacco is sucked to a lower side of an air-permeable conveyor belt. A suction bar is above the conveyor belt, which is connected to an air suction, the tobacco being formed into a tobacco rod at the lower side of the first conveyor belt, by being compressed at the lower side of the conveyor belt by the suction flow. The tobacco rod is transferred from the conveyor belt to a second conveyor belt, on which upper side a cigarette paper band is arranged. The cigarette paper band is glued along the longitudinal direction of the rod and the tobacco rod is cut into cigarettes. A smokable additive substance is metered into the suction stream mixed with tobacco and the tobacco rod is formed from the tobacco and the additive substance at the lower side of the first conveyor belt.
Method and an apparatus for manufacturing rod-like articles for tobacco industry
