METHOD OF APPLYING A COATING TO AN AEROSOL GENERATING ASSEMBLY
A method of applying a coating to an aerosol generating assembly (1). The method comprises the steps of: providing an aerosol generating assembly (1) comprising a combustible heat source (2), an aerosol forming substrate (3), and a wrapper (4) joining the combustible heat source (2) and the aerosol forming substrate (3), the combustible heat source (2) having a downstream portion (22) circumscribed by the wrapper, and an upstream portion (21) not circumscribed by the wrapper; and applying, in a first application step, a coating formulation (6) from at least one applicator head (10, 14) onto the upstream portion (21) while rotating the aerosol generating assembly (1) about its longitudinal axis (9).
Menthol cigarette
Cigarettes are provided which contain a filtering system and flavorants encapsulated with polyvinyl acetate, wherein deactivation of a sorbent by the flavorant is reduced through the encapsulation of the flavorant within the polyvinyl acetate. A preferred flavorant is menthol. The encapsulated flavorants are prepared by mixing at least one flavorant with polyvinyl acetate and a solvent, such as ethanol, and forming the encapsulated flavorants. Methods of making cigarettes and smoking the articles are also provided.
Smoking Article and Method for Manufacturing a Smoking Article
A smoking article includes a rod including smokable material wrapped by a wrapper, a mouthpiece connected to an end of the rod, wherein a machine-readable code is printed onto an outer surface of the wrapper, the printed machine-readable code being proximate a distal edge of the wrapper. A method for manufacturing a smoking article is also provided.
Devices for active humidification and flavouring
An analysis and/or treatment device (100) for at least one smoking article (60). comprising a closable receptacle (4) for receiving the at least one smoking article (60) therein; a reservoir (62) for a fluid treatment material (8, 9); a hollow injection needle. (2) interiorly insertable into the smoking article (60) received in the receptacle (4) and operably connected to the reservoir (62); means (3) for moving the treatment material (9) from the reservoir (62) through the needle (2) into the interior of the smoking article (60); and at least one sensor means (15) provided in the receptacle (4) for detecting at least one parameter characterizing a property of the smoking article (60) and/or characterizing the treatment conditions in the receptacle (4). A method for applying a treatment to a smoking article (60), wherein the smoking article (60) is enclosed by a receptacle (4), and a treatment material (8,9) is inserted into the receptacle (4) and directly into the interior of the smoking article (60) as a function of parameters measured by sensor means (1), said parameters being indicative of at least one of the temperature and the humidity in the receptacle (4) and the smoking article (60).
METHOD OF COATING TIPPING PAPER FOR SMOKING ARTICLE AND SMOKING ARTICLE MANUFACTURED ACCORDING THERETO
An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a smoking article including a smoking material portion which is wrapped with a smoking material wrapper, a filter portion which has an upstream end combined with the smoking material portion and is wrapped with a filter wrapper, and a tipping paper which wraps around the filter portion and at least a portion of the smoking material portion so that the smoking material portion and the filter portion are combined, wherein a design printing layer, an overprint (OP) coating layer, and a sweetener coating layer are disposed on a surface of the tipping paper.
AUTOMATED DEPOSITION OF HIGHLY VISCOUS FLUIDS INTO THIN-WALLED CYLINDERS
Disclosed are systems and methods for automatic infusion of concentrate and distillate material into cigarettes or other containers. In one embodiment, a thermally-controlled infusion system is provided. The system can maintain a selected temperature of the concentrate material throughout the infusion process, using a two-stage approach. In a first stage, the concentrate material is pressure-fed to a dosing chamber. In the second stage, the concentrate material is pumped into an insertion canula and into a cigarette or container. A revolver houses the cigarettes or containers and vertically transitions them to an insertion position, where the insertion canula can infuse the cigarettes or containers.
SMOKING ARTICLE FROM WHICH SOUND IS GENERATED
Provided herein is a smoking article from which sound is generated. The smoking article according to some embodiments of the present disclosure may include a filter portion and a smoking material portion, and a sound-generating material including a carbohydrate material may be added to the smoking material portion. The sound-generating material may generate sound as the material burns, and the sound may further provide an auditory effect during smoking. In this way, an improved smoking experience may be provided to the smoker.
Cigar flavoring method
A novel cigar is provided with an elongated cigar puller device which extends into the interior of the cigar. By removing the cigar puller from the cigar, the tobacco fill material of the cigar is disrupted so as to improve the draw of the cigar. Once the cigar puller is removed from the tobacco fill material, a flavorant and/or aromatic can be infused into the less dense tobacco fill material which is provided upon the removal of the cigar puller.
Method for applying register marks to wrapping paper for smoking articles
The invention relates to a method for marking a wrapping paper for smoking articles, comprising the following steps: (A) providing a wrapping paper for smoking articles, and (B) producing register marks on the wrapping paper by treating the surface of the wrapping paper with laser radiation having an energy density y in J-m-2, to which the following applies: y=k.Math.x, whereby x is the enthalpy of combustion per volume of the wrapping paper in J.Math.m.sup.−2.Math.μm.sup.−1, and k is at least −8 μm and at most −1 μm.
PERFORATING DRUM DEVICE AND PERFORATION DEVICE
This perforating drum is provided with a rotating drum which has a holding part that holds a heated-type tobacco product, a perforation unit which perforates the tobacco rod, and a cam which is provided on a rotating drum base part provided on the rotating drum. The perforation unit comprises a slide rod which is provided on the rotating drum, a perforating slider which has a perforation needle arranged opposite of the tip surface of the tobacco rod and which is slidably held on the slide rod, and a cam follower which is provided on the perforation slider and engages with the cam, and which allows the perforation slider to slide along the slide rod, wherein the cam has an insertion section and a withdrawal section.
