A cigarette filling packed body and an electronic cigarette cartridge provide a filled packing while ensuring excellent airflow within the cigarette filling packed body. Elongated cigarette fillings are packed into a bundle shape with an outer peripheral portion wrapped around by a sheet-shaped packaging body. Each filling is formed such that, in a cross section orthogonal to the a direction, the dimension in the long-side direction is longer than the dimension in the short-side direction. Each of the cigarette fillings in an outermost peripheral portion are in contact with the packaging body and have a long-side direction oriented following the circumferential direction. The cigarette fillings are oriented particularly to enhance air flow.

An inhalation system for generating a vapour for inhalation by a user includes an inhalation device including a controller and a vapour generating article including a vapour generating material and a heating element. The vapour generating article has first and second regions. The second region contains one or more of a higher density of the vapour generating material than the first region, vapour generating material with a higher moisture content than the first region, or vapour generating material with a higher aerosol-former content than the first region, and the heating element is arranged to generate more heat in the second region than in the first region.

A smoking article provided with a filter including an aerosol generating member, a filter including a filter material and one or more filter wrappers wound around an outer circumferential surface of the filter material, and an outer wrapper wound around the outer circumferential surfaces of an end part of the aerosol generating member and the filter, wherein the outer circumferential surface of the outer wrapper has an arithmetic mean roughness of less than 2.0 m, and the filter wound with the outer wrapper has a compression recovery of 60% or more after a compression load of 2.5 N is applied to a range of a length of 10 mm in the diameter direction thereof.

A capsule includes a smoking material containing one or more active agents, and a metallic foil surrounding the smoking material and configured to be heated via resistive heating by the electrodes driving a current into the metallic foil. A collapse-prevention element configured to facilitate electrical contact between the electrodes and the metallic foil, by preventing the capsule from collapsing. Apparatus and methods are described for use with a smoking device that includes at least first and second electrodes. A capsule includes a smoking material containing one or more active agents, and a metallic foil surrounding the smoking material and configured to be heated via resistive heating by the electrodes driving a current into the metallic foil. The metallic foil includes a plurality of regions along its length, each of the regions having a respective, different electrical resistance profile, such that upon a given current being driven through the metallic foil each of the regions heats to a respective, different temperature. An overall resistance to the current that is provided by the capsule is configured to substantially match an internal resistance of the one or more batteries of the smoking device.
