Aerosol generating articles
A filter part (1) for use in an aerosol generating article and a method of manufacturing the filter part (1). The filter part (1) includes an aerosol permeable core (11) surrounded by a sleeve (12). The sleeve (12) is formed of linear, axially oriented fibres and the core (11) is formed of expanded, randomly oriented fibres. The method includes forming two or more strips (2a, 2b) into segments surrounding a conveying path, bringing the segments together into a sleeve former (7) to form the sleeve (12) and introducing loose fibres (52) between the segments upstream of the sleeve former (7) such that they are drawn therein in a random orientation and compressed between the segments as they are brought together to form a filter rod (8) with an aerosol permeable core (11) within the sleeve (12). The filter rod (8) is then cut to form the filter part (1).
SMOKABLE INSERT SYSTEM INCLUDING FLAVOR RELEASING MECHANISM HELD BY A LOWER PARTITION
An insert system for use with a smokable (e.g., such as a pre-rolled or empty cone) including an internal partition that extends from the insert system's first end to an intermediate location between the insert system's first and its second end. A flavor releasing mechanism (e.g., a flavor ball) is located within the insert system between the intermediate location and the system's second end. Accordingly, the internal partition obstructs the flavor releasing mechanism from passing through the system's first end. The system's second end includes an obstructor (e.g., a perforated cap) thereby obstructing the flavor releasing mechanism from passing through the system's second end. The insert system may then be coupled with a smokable item to serve as the item's mouthpiece.
Cigarette Tip
A backing with corrugations on a first surface. The corrugations are parallel and each has an airspace along an entire longitudinal length. A second surface of the backing includes perforations or scores oriented perpendicularly or parallel to the corrugations. The corrugations or scores are fold lines or frangible tear lines. The airspaces may also include a filter material. The second surface of the backing may be adhered to a corner of a rolling paper on the surface but opposite edge as a gum strip. The corrugations are parallel to the gum strip.

Composite Web and Method of Manufacturing a Smoking Article
The present invention relates to composite web for forming a smoking article element wrapper. The composite web comprises a strip of wrapping material and a plurality of thermally conductive patches. The thermally conductive patches are located on a surface of the strip and are spaced along the length of the strip. The present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a smoking article component.
Biodegradable cigarette filter
A biodegradable cigarette filter includes a first filter tube, a second filter tube and a wrap paper. The first filter tube and the second filter tube each has an essentially cylindrical shape and has an open end and a closed end, and is filled with organic fibers. The first filter tube and the second filter tube are placed adjacent to each other with their respective open ends facing each other, and the wrap paper wraps around at least part of the outside of the first filter tube and at least part of the outside of the second filter tube to hold the first filter tube and the second filter tube together. Methods for making a biodegradable cigarette filter are also described.
