Embodiments disclosed herein describe systems and methods for a self-extinguishing smoke device. In embodiments, the self-extinguishing smoke device may include an upper portion and a lower portion.

A disposable ashtray includes a container sidewall having a screen at the bottom and a bottom cover allowing the ashtray container to be filled with sand. In this state, the ashtray is freestanding, has dimensional integrity and can be moved. The user stubs cigarettes and cigars into the sand medium through the major opening in the top of the ashtray. After use, the bottom cover is removed, and sand flows through the screen and butts and trash are retained above the screen. The entire device, including screen, container sidewall and bottom cover, may then be disposed of.

The device with a body with a hollow cavity defining a first volume configured to extinguish the cannabis cigarette. This first volume tapering from a base to an opposing opening configured so that ash from the extinguished cannabis cigarette travels unidirectionally through the body and into the second end cap. The first end cap removably attachable to the body and a second end cap removably attachable to the opposite end of the body.
