PHOTOSENSITIZING ANTIBODY-FLUOROPHORE CONJUGATES

The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods of killing cells. In particular examples, the method includes contacting a cell having a cell surface protein with a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody-IR700 molecule, wherein the antibody specifically binds to the cell surface protein, such as a tumor-specific antigen on the surface of a tumor cell. The cell is subsequently irradiated, such as at a wavelength of 660 to 740 nm at a dose of at least 1 J cm.sup.−2. The cell is also contacted with one or more therapeutic agents (such as an anti-cancer agent), for example about 0 to 8 hours after irradiating the cell, thereby killing the cell. Also provided are methods of imaging cell killing in real time, using fluorescence lifetime imaging. Also provided are wearable devices that include an article of clothing, jewelry, or covering; and an NIR LED incorporated into the article, which can be used with the disclosed methods.

Multi-threat protection composite
11707100 · 2023-07-25 · ·

A multi-threat protection composite containing at least 15 textile layers having an upper and lower surface and a non-blocking pressure sensitive adhesive (NonB-PSA) composition on at least the upper surface of each textile layer. The NonB-PSA coating contains a pressure sensitive adhesive and a plurality of first inorganic particles, wherein the ratio by weight of the first inorganic particles to the pressure sensitive adhesive is greater than about 1.2 and wherein the NonB-PSA coating is in an amount of at least about 10 g/m.sup.2 on each surface the NonB-PSA coating is located. The first inorganic particles have a median primary particle size of less than about 5 micrometers.

Chemical protective poncho system

A chemical protective poncho system for encapsulating a patient is presented. The system has a body extending a length between a top end and a bottom end and having a hood attached near the top end and having a liner attached near the bottom end. The system includes a layer of adsorbent impregnated media capable of filtering chemical agents while allowing oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass through the material. The chemical protective poncho is specially adapted to fit over the top of a patient and chemically seal the lower portion of the patient while allowing the patient ambulatory freedom. The system also includes ports for intravenous access as well as a port for respiratory access. The system may also include a powered air purifying respirator which positively pressurizes the interior space of the system.

PROTECTIVE COMBAT CLOTHING

Protective combat clothing (PCC) may include a shirt and trousers, wherein the shirt and the trousers are at least partially made of woven fabric made of a composition of the materials comprising flame-resistant fiber, flame-resistant meta-aramid fiber, heat-resistant fiber, polyimide and anti-static fiber.

Safety light
11691562 · 2023-07-04 ·

The present invention provides various aspects of a novel safety light that can be attached to a bicyclist or around the body of an athlete so as to define a well lit, safe distance to avoid collision by a motorist. The present safety concerns would find advantage in an easy to attach safety light that is much larger, more conspicuous and one that provides greater lumens. It would be desirable for athletes and the sports industry if there was provided an improved safety light system to provide a significant warning to let motorists know the safe distance that any motorist and/or his vehicle needs to avoid so as not to hit the cyclist or athlete.

Customized protective devices and systems and methods for producing the same

A method for generating a representation of a three-dimensional protective device includes accessing a scan of anatomical data of a target and identifying a reference model of a closest size or proportion to a size or proportion of the target. The method further includes creating a boundary of a three-dimensional protective device using the reference model and the scan of anatomical data of the target. Additionally, the method includes generating a representation of a continuous, three-dimensional surface of the three-dimensional protective device that corresponds to the scan of anatomical data and the reference model within the boundary of the three-dimensional protective device.

APPARATUS FOR PREVENTION OF AN ANIMAL ATTACK
20220386590 · 2022-12-08 ·

An animal attack prevention suit to protect the lives of both animal and human. A vest includes a housing mechanism for housing a propellant. A propellant control mechanism controls emission of the propellant from the housing mechanism.

Disinfection method and apparatus

Photosensitizers are incorporated into articles, such a personal protective equipment. A method of applying continuous and consistent light includes fitting the articles with light sources and optical fibers to apply light to the areas of the articles incorporated with the photosensitizers. Photosensitizers can be applied to articles by various applicators in either a gel or solution. A gel can be particularly effective when used on hydrophobic surfaces. Photodynamic reactor systems can be used to determine the effective doses of photosensitizers and the light dosimetry which can then be applied for use with the articles.

PERSONAL POP-UP PODS
20230093776 · 2023-03-23 · ·

Disclosed herein are novel personal pop-up pods designed for a single user. The personal pop-up pods can provide a user with privacy and/or protection from the surrounding elements. The personal pop-up pods are designed such that a user can remain mobile, i.e., able to move from one location to another while using a personal pop-up pod. The personal pop-up pods are designed such that a user can selectively gain access to the area surrounding the pop-up pod by opening windows and other points of access.
