A facemask includes an air-filtering portion comprising an air-permeable filtering media; a see-through portion in the filtering media; and a layered portion on each opposing side of the see-through portion. The see-through portion is configured so that, in use, a mouth of a wearer is visible therethrough, and is formed from a transparent film covering a void in, and fixed along its periphery to, the filtering media. The film extends across the length of the facemask, including over the void, forming layered portions of film on filtering media on opposing sides of the clear-portion. A method of manufacture includes removing, e.g., kiss-cutting, the air-permeable filtering media away to form the see-through portion, after layering the film onto the filtering media.

Vented garment

The technology described herein relates to breathable, vented, and insulating garments. More particularly, the technology described herein relates to garments with chambers to retain an insulating fill material. Openings along seams between the insulating chambers may achieve evaporative moisture or air transfer from the inside (proximal to the body of a wearer) of the garment to the outside environment. In an aspect, the garments comprise one or more insulated zones provided with one or more vented-insulation sections provided at locations on the garment configured to align with one or more areas of a wearer's body that are more sensitive to environmental conditions (e.g. temperature) and/or are prone to faster heat loss.

Multi-layered fabric

The invention relates to a multi-layered fabric comprising an absorption layer between two liquid-permeable layers, which multi-layered fabric has a surface with: 1) one or more connection areas wherein a connection is present between both layers; and 2) one or more absorption areas wherein both layers are not connected to each other. The absorption areas are capable of absorbing a liquid whereby the liquid is absorbed by the absorption layer. The connection between the layer L1 and the layer L2 comprises a fusion of the layer L1 and the layer L2, which fusion optionally also includes the absorption layer.

The method includes a step of cutting a fabric substrate and a film into a plurality of pieces, wherein the plurality of pieces includes at least a first and second group, wherein the first group includes a first substrate and film, and the second group includes a second substrate and film; a step of forming a first laminate by processing the first group; a step of forming a second laminate by processing the second group; a step of forming a seam by connecting the first and second substrate; a step of covering a seam area with the second film and then covering the second film with the first film; and a step of finally laminating the first and the second laminate along with the seam.

A performance monitoring system includes an athletic band or other article of apparel worn by a user, with a pocket supported by the article and defining a cavity, where the pocket has a sensor opening extending through an inner wall of the pocket and an access opening providing access to the cavity. The technology described herein relates to breathable, vented, and insulating garments. More particularly, the technology described herein relates to articles with a plurality of interconnected chambers that are configured to retain a thermally insulating fill material such as down or synthetic fibers. The plurality of interconnected chambers are formed between at least two layers of material and between a plurality of seams. The plurality of seams are configured to join the at least two layers of material together. In one aspect, each seam of the plurality of seams is angularly oriented with respect to an adjacent or neighboring seam of the plurality of seams. One or more openings or perforations may be formed on one or more seams of the plurality of seams forming the plurality of interconnected chambers. The one or more openings may achieve evaporation of moisture and/or air transfer from an interior environment of the garment to an exterior environment.

The present invention relates to a method for joining a first protective material (10) together with a second protective material (20) consisting of a thermally insulating fabric having a mesh configuration. The method comprises the steps of: providing a plurality of separate gluing points (30) on an inner surface (14) of the first protective material (10); hot-pressing the second protective material (20) onto the first protective material (10), in order to melt the plurality of separate gluing points (30), so as to firmly fix the second protective material (20) to the first protective material (10).
