11576449 · 2023-02-14 · ·

A disposable surgical gown is provided. The gown includes a front panel and sleeves formed from a first spunbond layer, a nonwoven (e.g., SMS) laminate, and a liquid impervious, moisture vapor breathable elastic film disposed therebetween. The gown also includes a first and second rear panels formed from a nonwoven laminate that is air breathable and allows for an air volumetric flow rate ranging from about 20 standard cubic feet per minute (scfm) to about 80 scfm. The gown further includes a collar formed from an air breathable knit material positioned adjacent a proximal end of the gown. The collar defines a neck opening having a v-neck shape adjacent the front panel. The v-neck shape forms an angle of greater than 90° at the neck opening. The combination of features results in a reduced-glare gown that is stretchable and impervious to liquids, yet can still dissipate heat and humidity.

Method of supporting the neck of a user

The invention relates to a farrier's apron with stop elements, made from a piece of flexible material, having means for supporting the horse's limbs (B) secured to the front and/or rear thereof, these means being stop elements (3), arranged and secured in different positions and areas of the apron, these stop elements (3) being made of solid pieces of hard-wearing material, such as leather, rope, gum, plastic, rubber, silicone or any other material, lined or not, flat or raised and of different shapes, and secured to the surface of the apron by different means.

WEARABLE SAFETY TOURNIQUET ASSEMBLY FOR CHAINSAW CHAPS
20230038923 · 2023-02-09 ·

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a wearable safety tourniquet assembly. The assembly provides a safety tourniquet that circumferentially integrates into a pair of chainsaw chaps for applying pressure to an injured limb. The safety tourniquet has a resilient strap that circumferentially integrates into the limb sections of the chaps. The strap is configured to wrap around the limb of the wearer directly, and without separation from the chaps. The safety tourniquet also has one or more tensioning mechanisms that are operatively attached to the strap. In one possible embodiment, the assembly provides an eclectic assortment of tensioning mechanisms to tighten and loosen the strap around the limb. In other embodiments, the tensioning mechanism can be interchanged to accommodate different pressure requirements, spacing around the chaps, and material and budgetary parameters. A medical kit and/or a sanitization pouch can detachably attach to the chaps, for easy retrieval thereof.

TEXTILES HAVING A MICROSTRUCTURED SURFACE AND GARMENTS COMPRISING THE SAME
20230234838 · 2023-07-27 ·

The present invention relates to textile articles and clothing such as outdoor garments, indoor garments, and commercial protective wear exposed to contact mixtures of water and oil, swimwear and winter wear exposed to mixtures of water and air. At least part of these textile articles possess a surface provided with at least one of 1) a high surface area, 2) hierarchical pattern, 3) contact angles such that hydrophilic portion of a contact mixture possesses a high contact angle and the hydrophobic portion of a contact mixture possesses a low contact angle, and 4) hysteresis angle greater than 5 degrees. Hydrophobic/Hydrophilic contact mixtures of the present invention can be surfaces where water and or ice are present in combination with oil and or air. The textile articles of the present invention resist slippage on surfaces possessing hydrophobic/hydrophilic contact mixtures.

PANTS CONFIGURED FOR ENHANCING WORKER MOBILITY
20230225426 · 2023-07-20 ·

The present invention provides pants, such as pants that are worn as work uniform pants, which are configured to provide significant improvements in a wearer's comfort, performance, and mobility over a predefined range of motions. Embodiments of the pants comprise one or more stretch panels that are configured to provide for stretching of the pant at an identified micro site in order to provide a wearer with enhanced mobility. Additionally, the manner in which the various portions of the pant are connected together may be adjusted in order to provide a wearer with enhanced mobility.

Rip-stop pants include waist and leg portions formed of ripstop fabric having synthetic mechanical-stretch filament yarns interwoven into spun, staple yarns in a ripstop pattern.

Method for controlling a grasp assist system

A grasp assist system includes a glove having a glove palm and fingers, with the glove worn on a user's hand. A sensor measures flexion of the glove fingers, and thus a change of position and/or attitude of the fingers is determined. Finger saddles at least partially surround a phalange of a respective one of the user's fingers. The system uses one or more tendon actuators to pull on flexible tendons. Each tendon connects to a respective finger saddle. A controller is in communication with the actuators and sensor(s). The glove may use feedback from optional contact sensors to adjust tension, and may have a built-in restorative force. In executing a control method, the controller selectively applies tension to the tendons in response to finger flexion, via the tendon actuators, at a level sufficient for moving the user's fingers when the user executes a hand maneuver.

Impact-resistant material and pad

Impact-resistant materials and pads are disclosed. An impact-resistant material includes a first elastomer layer having a first density, a second elastomer layer having a second density higher than the first density, a layer of high-tensile strength fibrous material, and a polymer layer. These layers are preferably be arranged in the order in which they are recited. These layers may also be included in an impact-resistant pad configured to be worn by a user. The first elastomer layer is positioned directly adjacent the user when the pad is worn by the user.
