Shirt manufactured with planar or non-planar plastic placket stays to reduce or eliminate placket droop and are positioned within said shirt during the manufacturing of said shirt, and where a portion of said stays may extend beyond said plackets behind the front panel(s) of said shirt to prevent placket rollover, and a kit to retrofit shirt to the make same.

A fastener system for clothing and other personal items is disclosed. The fastener system uses a combination of materials to form elements that can be adapted to different fastening applications. A first component of the system includes two members. The first member has an aperture for accommodating a T-shaped attachment member and a button. The second member has a T-shaped attachment member that fits through the aperture and rotates sideways to prevent passing backward through the aperture. The second member also has a strap for securing the attachment member against the aperture by attaching the strap to the button. A second component of the system includes a button with an enlarged head and base, and a flexible washer that fits over the head of the button. Fabric of an article to be secured may be laid over the head of the button and secured around the head of the button using the washer.

An adhesive fabric fastener for temporary securing two pieces of fabric or an object to a piece of fabric. In one embodiment, the fastener can be a snap assembly which can include ball and socket members each associated with adhesive for temporarily securing the ball and socket members to the fabric/objects. In one non-limiting use the fastener can be used to close or reduce the gap created between buttons on a buttoned shirt and such that the fastener is not seen in use. No modification or alteration to the piece of fabric or garment is required for securing the fastener. In another embodiment the fastener can be a cord secured at one end to adhesive tape and at its other end to another piece of adhesive tape.

The present invention relates to a sensing device (10) designed for being applied on a first flap (11) and on a second flap (12) of an opening (13) arranged in a wearable item (14). The sensing device (10) comprises: a triggering element (20) arranged on the first flap (11) of the opening (13) and comprising an activating component (23); a switch element (30) arranged on the second flap (12) of the opening (13) and comprising a sensing component (33); the sensing component (33) being designed for emitting an electrical output signal when it is put in a predetermined mutual position with respect to the activating component (23). According to the invention the triggering element (20) is provided with at least one alignment component (22; 22A, 22B) designed for interacting with a corresponding alignment component (32; 32A, 32B) of the switch element (30) so as to autonomously and automatically put in said predetermined mutual position the activating component (23) and the sensing component (33) when the first flap (11) is drawn close to the second flap (12), or viceversa. The invention also relates to a closure device comprising said sensing device (10) and to a method for manufacturing said sensing device (10).

A sewing system for attaching or re-attaching buttons is provided. Embodiments of the sewing system have a single- or multi-strand thread of one to ten woven threads, the threads having a length of at least one inch with one needle pre-attached, terminating in free strands, an opposing end securement, or two needles attached to opposing ends of the thread. The appearance of a professionally sewn button is provided while eliminating the need to make multiple passes through the button holes and fabric.

A harness (10) is provided for retaining a pair of electrical rubber insulating workman sleeves (12) on the shoulders (14) of a worker (16). The harness (10) is configured to grip a portion of the worker and thereby provide better anchoring of the electrical rubber insulating sleeves (12) to the worker. The gripping feature of the harness (10) is provided either in the form of a gripping collar (24) or a pair of fabric gripping sleeves (26), or a combination of the collar (24) and sleeves (26). Further, a C-shaped connector is configured for attaching the electrical rubber insulating sleeves (12) to a single point on a harness, which allows for an increased range of motion of the sleeves (12).

An apparatus that enhances the comfortable use of conventional, dual-loop respirators. An elastic strip has first and second fasteners at or near opposing first and second ends and multiple openings that extend entirely through the strip along a path between the first and second fasteners. The first fastener may be inserted through one of the openings forming a first portion of the strip that encircles a first loop of the respirator. The second fastener may be inserted through a different one of the openings while a second portion of the strip encircles the second loop of the respirator. As an alternative, the second loop may simply extend around the second fastener.

An adhesive fabric fastener for temporary securing two pieces of fabric or an object to a piece of fabric. A magnetic strap assembly includes a ribbon member having a first surface and a second surface. An adhesive member having a first surface and a second surface is coupled to the ribbon member along the first surfaces. A magnet is coupled to the second surface of the ribbon member and the second surface of the adhesive member includes an adhesive to couple it to an external object, such as clothing or a type of fabric. The strap assembly is premanufactured and used by an installer in desired cut lengths to install on clothing for example to facilitate closing openings and enabling those with hand operation deficiencies the ability to dress themselves without struggling with mainstream fasteners.

A C-shaped connector is provided for establishing a movable connection between a harness and one or more electrically insulating sleeves that are retained during use on the shoulders of a worker. The harness is configured to grip a portion of the worker and thereby provide better anchoring of the electrical rubber insulating sleeves to the worker. The C-shaped connector is configured to attach the electrical rubber insulating sleeves to a single point on the harness, which allows for an increased range of motion of the sleeves. The C-shaped connector can comprise a band of durable material that is longer than it is wide, and being bent in a first direction along its length and being bent along the same first direction along its width. Fasteners can be formed from or coupled to the band of durable material at each end lengthwise and at or about a midpoint.
