20230051747 · 2023-02-16 ·

Aspects herein are directed to a strap system having an adjustable stretch that is suitable for upper body garments, lower body garment, and articles such as bags and articles of footwear. The strap system includes a pair of straps that are coupled together in a face sharing relationship by a coupling mechanism. One of the straps in the pair of straps has greater stretch properties than the other strap. A total stretch of the strap system is adjustable by moving the coupling mechanism along a length of the strap system.

Apparatus are described herein for providing a garment (e.g. a bra) that can be used by a wearer during extraction of breast milk using a breast pump, and/or during breast feeding. In some embodiments, a garment can include a support strap having an adjustable portion, a shoulder strap, and a back panel. The support strap can be coupled to the shoulder strap via an engagement mechanism. The adjustable portion of the support strap can be configured to be adjusted relative to the engagement mechanism to change a length of the support strap between the engagement mechanism and the back panel so that the support strap can be disposed over a flange of a breast pump to hold the flange against the breast of a user. An outer panel can be coupled to the back panel and the engagement mechanism. In another embodiment, an inner panel can be removably coupled to the inner panel and the engagement mechanism.

Biosensing garment

Embodiments described herein relate generally to wearable electronic biosensing garments. In some embodiments, an apparatus comprises a biosensing garment and a plurality of electrical connectors that are mechanically fastened to the biosensing garment. A plurality of printed electrodes is disposed on the biosensing garment, each being electrically coupled, via a corresponding conductive pathway, to a corresponding one of the plurality of electrical connectors. The apparatus can further include an elongate member including a conductive member that is coupled to a plurality of elastic members in a curved pattern and that is configured to change from a first configuration to a second configuration as the elongate member stretches. The change from the first configuration to the second configuration can result in a change of inductance of the conductive member.

An adjustment system is configured to adjust the length of a first strap. The adjustment system comprises a ring defining a first through hole in a first direction. A pin is fitted movable with respect to the ring. The pin partially obstructs the ring in the first direction so as to divide the first through hole into a second through hole and a third through hole separated from the second through hole by the pin. The adjustment system comprises a tab at least partially blanking off the first through hole in the first direction. The tab is arranged at a distance from the pin to define a space for the first strap to pass between the pin and the tab.

ANALOG CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADAPTIVE APPAREL

An adaptive support garment integrating directional fabrics to assist in providing adaptive support to select portions of the garment is discussed herein. The adaptive support garment can include a first directional fabric, a second direction fabric, and a tension device. The first directional fabric includes first directional fibers, and the first directional fabric can be coupled to a fixed portion of the adaptive support garment. The second directional fabric includes second directional fibers, and the second directional fabric can be coupled to a movable control structure portion of the adaptive support garment. The tension device can be coupled to the movable control structure and configured to apply a tension in a first direction on the movable control structure. In operation, the first directional fibers can engage with the second directional fibers to resist movement in a second direction opposite the first direction.

MECHANICAL CONTROL SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADAPTIVE APPAREL

A control system for controlling tension applied to a lace cable coupled to a support structure of an adaptive support garment is discussed herein. The control system can include a lace spool, a damper mechanism, and a locking ring. The lace spool can include a lace groove to receive the lace cable and a rotary bias member to apply rotational tension to resist extension of the lace cable out of a housing holding the control system. The damper mechanism is engagable with the lace spool to generate an additional rotational tension resisting extension of the lace cable out of the housing. The locking ring is frictionally coupled to the lace spool, and the locking ring can include a lock wedge adapted to disengage the damper mechanism upon rotation into a pre-determined rotational position relative to the damper mechanism.
