SPORT-BOOT PRESSURE MONITOR AND METHOD OF USE
A sport-boot pressure monitoring system and method of use. The system includes a left boot sensor having a left flexible fluid-containing bladder shaped to fit between a user's left leg and an interior surface of a left boot worn by the user and a left pressure sense element in pressure-sensing communication with the left flexible fluid-containing bladder, a right boot sensor that is similar to the left one, and a controller to provide a pressure alert if pressure between one of the user's legs and the interior surface of the boot worn on that leg violates a predetermined pressure threshold and to provide a proximity alert if a distance between the left and right boots violates a predetermined proximity threshold.
Safety mechanism for use with snow sport boot and binding system
An apparatus for charge-assisted release of a ski binding includes an explosive material, a battery, an electrical circuit, and a processor. The explosive material is mounted on or in a ski, a ski boot, and/or a ski binding. The electrical circuit extends from the explosive material to the battery, the electrical circuit including a switch having a connected state in which the battery and the explosive material are electrically connected through the switch and a disconnected state in which the battery and the explosive material are electrically disconnected. The processor is electrically coupled to the switch and configured to generate an output signal that transitions the switch from the disconnected state to the connected state in response to an input signal from one or more sensors.
Skate and skate boot
A skate boot comprising an outer shell with a heel portion for receiving the heel of the foot; an ankle portion for receiving the ankle, the ankle portion comprising a rear portion for facing at least partially the lower part of the Achilles tendon; and medial and lateral side portions for facing the medial and lateral sides of the foot respectively. The skate boot also comprises a tendon guard extending upwardly from the ankle portion of the outer shell for facing at least partially the upper part of the Achilles tendon, the tendon guard comprising a recess for receiving an insert. The tendon guard has a first flexion mode when no insert is received in the recess and a second flexion mode when the insert is received in the recess. The second flexion mode is different from the first flexion mode.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THERMAL CONTROL IN SKI BOOTS
Systems, methods and devices for limiting the transfer of thermal energy in ski boots and slowing thermal energy conduction through the ski boots are provided. Devices may have an upper shell and a side band and an attachment device for attaching the device to the toe box area of ski boot. The devices may further comprise materials that are intended to limit the transfer of thermal energy.
SKI BOOT
A ski boot comprising: a substantially rigid foot-case, which is adapted to accommodate the user's foot and has the lower part structured to couple with a ski binding device; a substantially rigid cuff, which is adapted to surround the lower part of the user's leg, and is pivotally joined to the foot-case so as to be able to rotate about a reference axis substantially perpendicular to the midplane of the ski boot; and foot-case closing means which are adapted to selectively close/tighten the foot-case against the user's foot, and comprise: an oblong, transversal locking band with a flexible and substantially inextensible structure, which extends transversally to the midplane of the ski boot, astride of and flush to the protective tongue or gaiter, and has a first end firmly fixed to a first lateral side of the foot-case; and a manually-operated coupling assembly, which is adapted to connect the second end of the transversal locking band selectively and alternatively to the foot-case or to the cuff, at a second lateral side of the foot-case opposite to said first lateral side.
System and Method for Physical Activity Performance Analysis
A method for providing feedback to a skier includes: receiving, by a feedback computer, sensor data from a plurality of sensors located in a ski boot of the skier, the sensor data representing a movement of the skier during a ski run; receiving, by the feedback computer, video data representing a video recording of the skier during the ski run; after the ski run, synchronizing, by the feedback computer, the sensor data and the video data; and simultaneously displaying, on a display screen in electrical communication with the feedback computer, the video recording and the sensor data.
REEL BASED CLOSURE DEVICE
A boot, such as a ski boot, may include a lower portion or shell that is configured to accommodate a foot and an upper portion or cuff that extends upward from the lower portion and that is configured to accommodate a lower leg of a wearer. The boot may also include a tightening system that is coupled with the lower portion of the boot in order to close and tighten the lower portion about the foot. The tightening system includes a reel based closure device and a tension member that is operably coupled with the reel based closure device so that an operation of the reel based closure device effects tensioning of the tension member. The tightening system also includes a plurality of guide members that route or direct the tension member along a path and a terminal member that is fixedly coupled with the tension member.
Device and method for aiding putting on a ski boot
A device for aiding putting on a ski boot includes a flexible attachment member removably attached to the ski boot. The flexible attachment member includes a strap retention member at a front end. An end of a main strap is attached at a rear end of the flexible retention member. The other end of the main strap is threaded through the strap retention member and through a loop positioned on a tongue of the ski boot. The main strap is pulled to move the tongue toward the front of the ski boot to increase the opening into the ski boot. After the tongue is in an open position, the ends of the main strap are attached to one another to keep the tongue in an open position. A pair of side straps attached to the main strap can be pulled upwardly on either side of the ski boot to aid in pulling the ski boot onto the foot of the wearer.
System and method for physical activity performance analysis
Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for improving physical activity performance analysis, and more specifically to a system and method for using motion, pressure and position sensors embedded in equipment or footwear of a user to assess physical activity performance. The sensors can collect pressure related data, transmit the data to a server for processing, and the user can receive feedback based on their performance.
