Double-face elastic fabric with hook-and-loop properties

A double-face fabric having elastic properties in its warp direction and provided with hook-and-loop properties, formed by the weaving of warp yarns and of weft yarns. The warp yarns are of four different types worked in different weaves with respect to the weft yarns, respectively: elastic yarns (A) worked in a taffeta weave; core yarns (B), formed of synthetic yarns texturized by false twist on the face, worked in a plain weave alternating with surface floats and having a linear strand density in the range from 10 to 25 dtex; core yarns (C) on the back side, formed of multifilament synthetic yarns, having a linear strand density in the range from 0.3 to 1.7 dtex, worked in a rep weave, alternating floats of great length on the back side and short binding areas on the face side, binding yarns, exclusively formed of thermo-adhesive synthetic yarns, having a melting point in the range from 80° C. to 160° C., worked in a plain weave.

A hook-and-loop fastener member is capable of removably joining different sheet members and includes: a first tape body provided at one of principal surfaces with a plurality of loop bodies; a second tape body provided at one of principal surfaces with a plurality of loop bodies; and a third tape body provided at both surfaces with a plurality of hook bodies, the different sheet members being capable of being joined by: disposing the third tape body to be sandwiched between the first tape body and the second tape body; engaging the plurality of loop bodies of the first tape body with the plurality of hook bodies on one of both the surfaces of the third tape body; and engaging the plurality of loop bodies of the second tape body with the plurality of hook bodies on the other of both the surfaces of the third tape body.

A method for forming a double-sided loop strap includes: receiving a continuous longitudinal strip of loop material including a strip-form base bearing a field of upstanding loops on a fastening side of the strip bounded by opposite longitudinal edges, folding each of the longitudinal edges away from the fastening side, such that the base overlaps itself, and securing the folded edges in place by permanently bonding together overlapped areas of the base to form the double-sided loop strap.

The double-sided hook surface fastener is an extrusion molding surface fastener, the double-sided hook surface fastener is folded back in a length direction in a shape of an alligator's mouth, and the double-sided hook surface fastener is fixed to a first mounting object at a folded-back portion by a rivet. One end portion of the double-sided loop surface fastener is tucked by the alligator's mouth, the double-sided loop surface fastener is folded back by an annular part fixed to a second mounting object, and the other end portion of the double-sided loop surface fastener engages with an outer side surface of the alligator's mouth.

An apparatus and associated method are disclosed for releasably securing sections of fabric forming a belt around a user, and in particular a belt of the type used in martial arts and other combative activities. The apparatus has an elongate thin strip of material having a length substantially greater than a width, divided by a first section and a second section between its end, and thereby having four surface sections. The surface sections can be configured with fastening hooks or receiving loops, or be smooth, to provide fastening surfaces, receiving surfaces, and non-fastening/receiving surfaces. In use the strip of material is looped between and around layers of a belt tied with a knot such that a first fastening surface contacts and adheres to at least a portion of an opposing receiving surface to secure the strip of material in a loop around the layers of the belt in the area of the knot to prevent unraveling during an activity.
