A knitted fastener stringer has a chain stich yarn disposed on the innermost edge wale furthest from the tape body portion of an element attaching portion is the thickest of all the chain stich yarns used in a fastener tape. This enables a distance of a gap formed between left and right fastener tapes to be smaller when a slide fastener is formed by two knitted fastener stringers.

A fastener element has a central land portion and first and second bulging portions bulging from the central land portion toward the tape front surface side and the tape rear surface side in the element thickness direction. The first and second bulging portions respectively have a bulging end surface facing to the element thickness direction. The bulging end surface has a quadrilateral base end surface which is long in the element length direction and a tapered protrusion end surface protruding from the base end surface in the element width direction. Thus, it is possible to make the fastener element look like a single-sided metal element and to make a slide fastener which is formed by using the fastener elements lighter than a conventional slide fastener having single-sided metal elements.

Woven and knit substrates having juxtaposed notches with finished edges are disclosed. Such substrates can be used as opposed fastener tapes and fastener elements can be formed, woven, or otherwise added to the opposed fastener tapes in a known fashion. The notched fastener tapes permit the resulting slide fastener to be curved in-plane without buckling either of the opposed the fastener tapes out-of-plane. The finished edges maintain structural integrity of the woven or knit substrates, in stark context to prior art substrates having cut notches. Also disclosed are panelized substrates having curved apertures and incorporating disclosed slide fasteners.

A knitted fastener stringer of the invention includes: a fastener tape; and a continuous element row which is fixed upon knitting the fastener tape, the fastener tape has a tape main body portion and an element attachment portion, the tape main body portion has a first region which neighbors the element attachment portion, a second region which neighbors the first region, and a third region which neighbors the second region and forms an outermost side edge portion, the second region is formed thinner than the first region, and the third region is formed thinner than the second region.

Fastener stringer attachment structure

Provided is a fastener stringer attachment structure which can provide an attractive pants silhouette, improve the fit of the pants, and furthermore, reduce the manufacturing cost of the pants by reducing the number of superposed fabrics at a side edge section of a lower front bodice. A fastener tape of a fastener stringer is sewn with a sewing thread to the upper surface of a lower side fabric so that a fastener element of the fastener stringer is positioned inside an end section of the lower side fabric, and a portion of the sewing thread positioned over the fastener tape is in contact with the upper surface of the fastener tape.

Fastener stringer and slide fastener

Fastener stringer may include a knitted fastener tape, and a fastener element attached to the fastener tape. The fastener tape may include a first side-edge portion where the fastener element is provided, a second side-edge portion provided at an opposite side of the first side-edge portion, and a tape main portion provided between the first and second side-edge portions. The first side-edge portion may include one or more chain-stitch yarns formed in one or more wales. The second side-edge portion may not include a chain-stitch yarn. The tape main portion may include M or more chain-stitch yarns formed in M or more wales. M may indicate a natural number equal to or greater than one third of the total number of wales included in the fastener tape. Difference in yarn density may be caused between the tape main portion and the second side-edge portion.

A fastening element may comprise a first panel and the second panel. The first panel may have a first longitudinal edge and the second panel may have a second longitudinal edge. The second longitudinal edge may be spaced from the first longitudinal edge to form a curvilinear gap. The fastening element may comprise a fastening mechanism coupled to the first longitudinal edge using an adhesive. The fastening mechanism may comprise a zipper tape and a plurality of teeth. The zipper tape may be configured by applying the adhesive on at least a portion of the zipper tape and cutting through the adhesive and zipper tape to define a plurality of cut-outs in the zipper tape.

FASTENER STRINGER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FASTENER STRINGER

A fastener stringer for a concealed slide fastener in which a knitted fastener tape has a tape main body portion and a doubled-tape portion that is formed by extending in a width direction from the tape main body portion and being folded back, wherein at least a chain stitch yarn is included in each wale forming the tape main body portion, and wales forming the doubled-tape portion have at least one wide wale having a second wale width that is greater than the first wale width of the wale forming the tape main body portion. The doubled-tape portion of the fastener tape can thereby be provided with superior flexibility.
