Provided is a metallic fastener member which has a specific color, i.e., a light gold color, and has all of practical strength, unsusceptibility to discoloration, and processability. The metallic fastener member comprises, as the base material, a copper alloy having a composition which contains 1-30 mass % Zn and 1-11 mass % Ni, with the remainder comprising Cu and unavoidable impurities, and has a Vickers hardness of 120 Hv or greater but less than 220 Hv.

There is provided a stop for a slide fastener. A top plate and a bottom plate are linked with one another at a transversely intermediate position by an integral connecting post. The lower side of the top plate is substantially flat. The bottom plate slopes away from the connecting post to form two leg members provided with a respective end flange pointing towards the top plate, the leg members being adapted to cooperate in use with the top plate to retain fastener tapes therebetween.

The stop member (6,7) has at least one thinned portion (61,71) having a thickness lesser than a thickness of the fastener element (4) and/or at least one through-hole (68) extending through the stop member (6,7) in an up-down direction. The thinned portion (61,71) and/or the through-hole (68) is configured to allow the stop member (6,7) to be produced by remolding one or more fastener elements (4).
