In one embodiment, an ornamental component is provided for use with jewelry (a bracelet or necklace). The ornamental component has a through hole allowing the ornamental component to be strung on an elongated member of the jewelry. The ornamental component includes a self-supporting housing and an insert assembly. The housing has a through hole with first and second openings at first and second sides, respectively, of the housing. The insert assembly is inserted in the through hole of the housing, and the insert assembly is assembled from a first tubular element and a gripping element. The first tubular element has a through hole that forms at least a part of the ornamental component through hole. The gripping element is configured to frictionally grip a part of the jewelry item. The first tubular element is configured to secure the gripping element inside the through hole of the ornamental component.

A method of making a self-stopping bead for jewelry. The method comprises the steps of: inserting a resilient tube with an axial passage lengthwise into a relatively rigid tube having a longitudinal axis; deforming the rigid tube inward toward said axis at at least first and second spaced-apart locations along said axis until the rigid tube is necked down at said locations enough to pinch the resilient tube at a depression; and severing the rigid tube and the resilient tube at said depressions thereby forming a self-stopping bead with opposing holes wherein during the step of deforming, the rigid tube and the resilient tube are pinched off so that each hole in the bead receives therein an end of the resilient tube so that the resilient inner tube has a length substantially the same as an axial length of the self-stopping bead between the opposed bead holes.

An ornamental component (300) for a bracelet and/or necklace, comprising a housing with a cavity defining projecting rims of end walls of the housing and a ring manufactured from a resilient friction material, wherein the ring comprises at least two cut-outs in the inside surface (303) of the ring, said cut-outs defining associated at least two inwardly projecting projections of the ring for frictionally gripping a surface of the elongated member so as to adjustably fix the ornamental component at selected positions along an elongated member, an entirety of the cut-outs being free of material.

A magnetic therapeutic device is provided, comprising a non-electrically conductive strand and a plurality of magnetic beads. Each bead has a hole through its center (“bead hole”) and has a North pole edge and a South pole edge forming a magnetic field parallel to the bead hole. A jewelry item comprising a plurality of individual, customizable strands utilizes a novel clasp for holding an end of each strand. This clasp includes stationary and movable closure elements; a housing for covering at least a portion of the closure; and a connection piece secured to the stationary closure element. The clasp is spring-biased towards its closed position. Pushing the connection piece towards the housing opens the clasp. The resulting clasp arrangement can be utilized with a multi-strand jewelry item.

A disclosed bead bracelet loom for making a beaded item includes a clip disposed at one end of a track and configured to hold a portion of a cord. A holder is disposed on the track and spaced apart from the clip. The holder includes a key portion that engages a portion of the track to maintain a position of the holder spaced apart from the clip. The holder including a spring portion that holds a clip configured to hold an end of the cord and maintain a desired tension on the cord member between the clip and the holder.

An ornamental component for a bracelet and/or necklace includes a housing with a channel passing therethrough for supporting an elongate member. A single slot is within the housing for the elongate member to gain access to and from the channel. The slot may be substantially parallel to the axis of the channel and pass through a wall of the housing to the channel. The channel and the slot provide a cut-out that creates a substantially C-shaped housing. The slot is configured to resist but allow the passing of the elongate member into the channel.
