The removable cover for a wearable ring device may include a ring-shaped surface and one or more mechanical features integrated into the ring-shaped surface and configured to transition between an open state and a closed state. In the closed state, the ring-shaped surface may be configured to extend around a full circumference of the wearable ring device. In some cases, a diameter of the removable cover in the open state is greater than a diameter of the removable cover in the closed state, and the diameter of the removable cover in the closed state is sized to form an interference fit with a surface of the wearable ring device to lock the removable cover onto the wearable ring device when the removable cover is in the closed state.

Methods, systems, and devices for a functional cover are described. A removable cover (e.g., a functional cover) for a wearable ring device (e.g., a ring wearable) may include one or more electrical components positioned at least partially within the removable cover. In some cases, the functional cover may wireless connect with the ring wearable. The removable cover may further include a first inductive component within the removable cover, where the first inductive component is configured to wirelessly communicate with a second inductive component of the wearable ring device when the removable cover is in a mounted state on the wearable ring device. The first inductive component of the removable cover may be configured to transfer electrical current, data, or both, between the one or more electrical components of the removable cover and one or more additional electrical components of the wearable ring device.

Exemplary embodiments of a ring and ring assembly are provided. In one embodiment, a ring assembly is provided having an inner ring, an outer ring having a groove within an inner portion of the outer ring that fits the inner ring, and a mechanism provided on the outer ring allowing the outer ring to be opened to place the inner ring within the outer ring. The outer ring can have an opening through which a jewel on the inner ring can project when the outer ring is closed. The outer ring can have a design that surrounds the jewel on the inner ring.

A ring protector or a ring guard for protecting a ring (e.g., a smart ring) worn on a finger is disclosed. The ring protector includes a pair of annular members, and a base or two bases interconnecting the annular members. In a scenario where there is one base, the base extends partially along the circumference of the annular members leaving an open slot at the opposing side of the base for insertion of the ring to be protected. In a scenario with two bases, each of the bases extends partially along the circumference of the annular members creating opposingly disposed openings that reveal portions of the ring inserted inside the ring protector.
