Holding device and method for releasing a snap-in connection

A holding device (10) for holding a component (12), the holding device (10) being convertible from a component holding mode into a component release mode by magnetic force. The holding device (10) for holding the component (12) has a movable detent element (14), the position of which is not influenced by the magnetic force. A method for releasing a snap-in connection between a holding device (10) and a component (12) is also provided, having the following steps: generating a magnetic field in the vicinity of the holding device (10); and applying a force that moves the holding device (10) and the component (12) apart from each other to release the snap-in connection.

The present invention provides for a universal stud earring clasp that allows for fastening jewelry and jewelry devices. The present invention facilitates and improves the clasp system for jewelry by providing for a universal fastening device that is particularly compatible with stud earrings, but not limited to stud earring compatibility. The clasp provides for a greater pressure surface and a more ergonomic grip. People from almost all age ranges can handle the clasp, and the clasp is cost-efficient for manufacturing. The clasp also provides for a stud earring clap that is compatible with pins from the ALPA locking system. This invention solves the unmet need of a more secure clasp alternative to existing stud earrings and jewelry items.

Producing a safety clutch
10806224 · 2020-10-20 ·

A method of producing a safety clutch for releasable securing of a post for a body piercing is disclosed. The post is guided through a hole in a plate to be secured (but removable) between a pair of cantilever spring elements bent from the edges of the plate into position on the back side of the plate. A dome shield is also secured to the edge of plate to cover the cantilever spring elements on back side of the clutch, the dome shield including one or more ventilation holes for reducing moisture accumulation within the dome shield. The dome shield blocks an end of the post extending between the cantilever spring elements from contacting the user and possibly puncturing skin. The plate, dome shield and cantilever spring elements can be efficiently manufactured by forming and stamping from a single piece of material.

A connector has a first member (1) forming a female member, and a second member (2) forming a male member arranged to co-operate with the female member along a longitudinal axis (3). The first member houses a spring biased claw (44) which has a finger (49) arranged to engage in a detent (25) in the second member so as secure the second member to the first member. A latch (70), which is reciprocal in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (3), is arranged to abut the claw (44) to lock and prevent the claw from opening when engaged in the detent (25). A magnet (76) is attached to the latch (70) and the latch (70) is spring biased by a spring (78) to lock the claw. A second magnet (590,1080) is positioned adjacent the first magnet (76) to withdraw the latch from engagement with the claw, thereby enabling removal of the second member (2).
