CONTACT LENS BLISTER PACKAGES AND METHODS FOR RECYCLING SAME
Contact lens packages are provided and each includes a base member having a cavity and a sealing member coupled to the base member. An unworn contact lens is provided in a packaging solution within the sealed cavity. The base member is a thermoplastic or other recyclable material. The base member includes at least one connecting member that can be an interlocking feature and/or a stackable feature. The connecting member is configured to connect to the connecting member of another base member, after the contact lenses are removed from the cavities. A recyclable thermoplastic contact lens assembly is also provided that includes empty contact lens package base members stacked and connected together. A method of manufacturing contact lens packages and a method to recycle used contact lens package base members, such as by curbside recycling, are also provided.
CONTACT LENS PACKAGE AND METHOD AND PACKAGING MACHINE FOR PRODUCING SAME
The contact lens package comprises an accommodation element having a cup which contains a contact lens fluid and a contact lens, and a cover film which closes the cup. The accommodation element has, at least in a region of the cup, a coating containing silicon oxide or aluminium oxide. The associated method of production comprises the coating of the accommodation element, at least in the region of the cup, with the coating and the associated packaging machine comprises a coating station for corresponding coating of the accommodation element.
Contact lens case
A contact lens case includes a platform portion. The platform portion can include a receiving body, an inner wall formed in the receiving body, a floor connected to the inner wall, the inner wall and the floor defining a chamber, and a lens positioning guide formed in the floor of the chamber.
PACKAGING SOLUTIONS
A packaging system for the storage of an ophthalmic device is disclosed. The packaging system includes a sealed container containing one or more unused ophthalmic devices immersed in an aqueous packaging solution that includes ectoine or an ophthalmologically acceptable ectoine derivative. The aqueous packaging solution has an osmolality of at least about 150 mOsm/kg, a pH of about 6 to about 9 and is sterilized.
A SOFT CONTACT LENS AND A PACKAGING COMPRISING SUCH A SOFT CONTACT LENS
A soft contact lens (4) comprises a solid component, which is based on a polymer, and a liquid component which is distributed in the solid component and which comprises at least one compound which is selected from vitamin E, vitamin B2 and the respective derivatives thereof. The contact lens has a degree of transmission of type A ultraviolet radiation greater than 50% and a degree of transmission of type B ultraviolet radiation greater than 20%.
CONTACT LENS PACKAGING
A storage container for contact lenses has a well for receiving a contact lens and a storage liquid and a floor. A support structure of the storage container holds the contact lens in a defined location above the floor of the well, the defined location having a lens depression area that in use permits depression of the contact lens under finger pressure, where the support structure supports a concave surface of a contact lens and acts as a fulcrum wherein the contact lens pivots about the fulcrum such a contact surface area of the contact lens deforms when pressure is applied to a portion of the contact lens in the depression area.
Contact lens packaging solutions containing hydrophilic polymers endcapped with a hydrophilic and a hydrophobic group
A packaging system for the storage of an ophthalmic device is disclosed. The packaging system comprises a sealed container containing one or more unused ophthalmic devices immersed in an aqueous packaging solution comprising one or more hydrophilic polymers or copolymers comprising hydrophilic units and endcapped with a hydrophobic end group and a hydrophilic end group, wherein the solution has an osmolality of at least about 200 mOsm/kg, a pH of about 6 to about 9 and is heat sterilized.
CONNECTABLE CONTACT LENS PACKAGES FOR RECYCLING
Contact lens packages are provided and each includes a base member having a cavity and a sealing member coupled to the base member. An unworn contact lens is provided in a packaging solution within the sealed cavity. The base member is a thermoplastic or other recyclable material. The base member includes at least one latch and at least one slot. The latch and slot are configured to connect to the slot and latch, respectively, of another base member, after the contact lenses are removed from the cavities. A recyclable thermoplastic contact lens assembly is also provided that includes empty contact lens package base members stacked and connected together. A method to recycle used contact lens package base members, such as by curbside recycling, is also provided.
Package for an ophthalmic device having a multilayer lidstock containing a cyclic olefin seal layer
The present invention is related to a contact lens package with a heat sealable multilayer packaging lidstock formed from: a support layer and a peelable seal layer made from a polymer blend, such polymer blend formed from a material: from 40 to 85% by weight of one or more first amorphous cyclic olefin polymer(s) characterized by a glass transition temperature of at least 120° C. from 10 to 55% by weight of one or more second amorphous cyclic olefin polymer(s) characterized by a glass transition temperature of less than 120° C., and from 0.5 to 15% by weight, preferably 0.5 to 10% by weight of at least one elastomeric copolymer comprising at least one polymerized monovinylarene and at least one polymerized acyclic olefin.
Contact Lens Dispensing Assembly
A contact lens dispensing assembly includes a pair of dispensing sleeves that each contains a strip of contact lens containers for a respective one of the user's eyes. Each of the dispensing sleeves has a dispensing platform to facilitate a respective one of the contact lens containers to be removed from the dispensing sleeves for each of the user's eyes. A pair of mating members is each coupled to a receptive one of the dispensing sleeves. In this way each of the mating members can engage a support surface in a bathroom thereby facilitating the contact lens containers to be accessible to the user during the user's morning bathroom routine.
