In one aspect the invention is arranged to provide a hair treatment apparatus adapted to reduce the temperature of hair. This apparatus includes at least one thermal energy storage core arranged to draw heat out of hair wherein said at least one thermal energy storage core is arranged to cool hair to a temperature below 0° Celsius.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a hair roller which can be separated into a pair of half-cylindrical roller pieces, pairs of half-cylindrical roller pieces, and a method of storing half-cylindrical roller pieces by nesting the half-cylindrical roller pieces. A system and method for curling a lock of hair. A hair curling assembly contains a bi-stable ribbon spring. The ribbon spring is biased into a coiled configuration. The ribbon spring has positional stability in both its coiled configuration and its linear configuration. The ribbon spring is manipulated into its linear configuration within the hair curling assembly. The hair curling assembly is then positioned proximate the lock of hair to be curled. The ribbon spring is triggered back to its coiled configuration. The lock of hair winds with the ribbon spring into its coiled configuration, therein forming a curl in the lock of hair.

A soft roller system that provides for a moisture retaining outer casing that keeps hair from drying out, a firm, yet flexible honeycomb type core that allows the foam roller to keep its shape under compression that is caused by the pressure of the head during sleep, and a moisture retaining band to secure the ends of a tress of hair between the soft fabric casing and smoothing band to secure the ends of the hair and protect the hair from breakage and ware.
