The first part includes a measuring probe (MP), and the second part is arranged for deforming the hair against the measuring probe. While the device moves along the hair, the measuring probe experiences both a friction force resulting from the hair being guided along the measuring probe, and a deformation force resulting from hair deformation by the second part against the measuring probe. The second part includes a pressure element (PB, S) for pressing the hair against the measuring probe. The present invention relates to a method for dyeing hair fibres, in particular a method which involves coating hair fibres with a hair dye composition and directing radio frequency electromagnetic radiation to the coated hair fibres to cause heating within the coated hair fibres by dielectric loss. The present invention also relates to kits and appliances for use in connection with the method, as well as the use of radio frequency electromagnetic radiation in reducing the effective dye-treatment time for hair fibres. In one aspect, there is provided a method of dyeing hair fibres, said method comprising the steps of: i) coating one or more hair fibres with a hair dye composition; and ii) directing radio frequency electromagnetic radiation having one or more frequencies from 1 MHz to 300 MHz to the one or more coated hair fibres to cause heating within the one or more coated hair fibres by dielectric loss. Preferably, the hair dye composition used in step i) is a permanent or demi-permanent hair dye composition that may be prepared by combining a dye lotion containing one or more dye precursors and an activator solution containing an activating agent, wherein the activating agent in the activator solution converts the one or more dye precursors in the dye lotion to active dye agents.

A method for a cosmetologist to apply eyelash extensions onto natural eyelashes a person may include visually identifying a target eyelash through a magnifying glass. The target eyelash may be a natural eyelash of the person having multiple rows of natural eyelashes. The method may include gripping an eyelash extension with an eyelash manipulation tool, and attaching a top surface of the eyelash extension onto a bottom surface of the target eyelash using the eyelash manipulation tool. An eyelash application kit may be used during implementation of the method. The eyelash application kit may include an eyelash isolation tool including a ring and a prong mechanically coupled with and extending from the ring. The eyelash application kit may also include a magnifying tool including a head fitting and a magnifying glass mechanically coupled with the head fitting. The eyelash application kit may include an eyelash straightener and curler, which may be heated.

The handheld motorized hair styling device is a battery-operated, motorized, hair styling tool that produces a styled pattern of curls, twists, and/or coils in hair. The handheld motorized hair styling device creates the styled pattern by moving a contoured styling pad against the hair in a roto-linear motion. The speed and direction of the roto-linear motion may be changed using controls on the handheld motorized hair styling device. The styling pad may be removed and replaced and the battery is rechargeable.

The hairstyling device (1) in accordance with the invention particularly serves for shaping a so-called ponytail, and has an essentially rotationally symmetrical base body (10), the base body being provided with an attachment surface (20) at a front surface thereof, the attachment surface being meant for mounting over the head of a person to be hair-dressed. Further, the device includes a shaft (30), having longitudinal grooves (40) provided on its surface. Disclosed is a hair styling apparatus and its employment in specific hairstyling methods. The apparatus is a mechanized, motorized device configured to operate in conjunction with a hairstyling attachment, said device comprising an ordered arrangement of components which, when motorized in a connected manner, cause the meshed rotation of two internal pivot gears, the pivot gears having irregularly-spaced undersurface dock holes connectable to a planar grip housing. The pivot gears induce selectable rotation modes of the planar grip housing; further, the grip housing is capable of securely gripping the attachment. A preferred attachment comprises an elastomeric block having an elliptically-contoured, substantially smooth top surface, and a patterned, sculptured bottom surface constructed with parallel V-shaped channels and a plurality of circular chambers. In this manner, when hair is placed in contact with the motorized device and its attachment, the hair may be styled into a multiplicity of twists or spirals.
