In one embodiment, a brush applicator includes a body having one or more channels to distribute material to a bristle assembly. The bristle assembly can include a plurality of bristle and brush elements. The brush elements may be interspersed with the bristle elements and can each include a shaft and end (e.g., tip). Another embodiment is directed to a brush applicator including a container coupled to a body. The container retains at least one material including powder, liquids and solutions. Another embodiment is directed to a brush applicator configured for application of dry shampoo to hair.
