ROTATING BRISTLE DEVICE AND METHOD OF USE
A material treatment device intended for use for human or animal hair includes a plurality of rods arranged circumferentially as part of a rod barrel and a handle attached to the rod barrel for rotatable support thereof. A mechanism is provided to rotate the rod barrel in a first direction and a second mechanism is provided to rotate each of the rods separately from the rod barrel in a second direction opposite the first direction. The material being contacted by the rods during use of the hair treatment device rolls away from the contacted rod in the second direction or permitting each of the rods to freely spin during rod barrel rotation. The device can also include bristles that move with respect to the rod barrel or are fixed thereto, the bristles moving with the rod barrel rotation.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANIPULATING THE SHAPE OF HAIR
An apparatus manipulates the shape of hair using dielectric heating. Typically, the apparatus includes opposing first and second electrodes respectively provided on first and second arms that are movable towards and away from one another. Drive circuitry supplies electrical energy to the first and second electrodes, to cause an alternating electric field to be produced in the vicinity of the electrodes in use, and thereby cause dielectric heating of hair placed between the electrodes in use. Sensing circuitry senses a change in coupling of energy from the alternating electric field to the hair during heating of the hair. Control circuitry controls the drive circuitry to vary the electrical energy supplied to the first and second electrodes in dependence upon the sensed change in coupling. A related method manipulates the shape of hair using dielectric heating.

HAIR HOLDER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HAIR HOLDER, AND HAIR TREATMENT METHOD USING HAIR HOLDER
A hair holder (1) includes a tubular body (2) constructed in such a manner that a hair bundle (H) is insertable from an opening (1a) at one end toward an opening (1b) at the other end. The hair holder (1) has a longitudinal direction (X) and a width direction (Y). The hair holder (1) is constructed in such a manner that the hair holder can be rolled up along the longitudinal direction (X). The hair holder (1) includes a first sheet (21) to be located on an inner side in the rolled-up state, and a second sheet (22) to be located on an outer side. One or both of the two sheets (21, 22) satisfies at least one of condition (1) or (2) below: (1) the sheet includes a polyester-based nonwoven fabric, and the sheet’s storage modulus E′ in dynamic viscoelasticity measured at 100° C. at a frequency of 1 Hz is 50 MPa or greater; or (2) the sheet includes a polyester-based nonwoven fabric, and the sheet’s storage modulus E′ in dynamic viscoelasticity measured at 150° C. at a frequency of 1 Hz is 19.2 MPa or greater.
Hair treatment method
The present invention relates to a cosmetic hair treatment method comprising at least the steps consisting of: a) applying a mechanical tension to said hair, b) exposing said hair under mechanical tension to microwaves, in the presence of a solvent in vapor form in contact with said hair, without complete drying of the hair during microwave exposure, the solvent in vapor form being entirely generated by the evaporation of a compound which is present, before emission of the microwaves, in contact with the treated hair.
A LIGHT-BASED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SHAPING AND TREATING HAIR
System and methods for treating and shaping a keratin fiber are provided. A light-based system includes an activation system configured with one or more light source. The light source is configured to apply electromagnetic radiation at a target region including the keratin fiber. The light-based system applies the electromagnetic radiation to the target region to effectuate photocrosslinking with the assistance of a photosensitizer on the keratin fiber and transition the keratin fiber from a first physical state to a second physical state.
