An animal care or cleaning device has a brush (2) mounted on a brush shaft (16), drivable by an electric motor drive (36) to rotate the brush (2). The brush shaft is rotatably mounted in a bearing (14) provided on a support (4, 6), and has an actuator by which the drive (36) can be actuated as a function of contact of the brush (2) with an animal body. The bearing (14) has at least one shaft bearing (14) that holds the axis of rotation of the brush (2) in a fixed positional relationship to the support (4, 6). The drive (36) is driven by torque acting on the brush shaft (16) in one or other direction of rotation, caused by an impact motion of the animal body on the brush (2), and is carried along at most to a predeterminable dead stop on the support (4, 6). The drive triggers the actuator (42) for actuating the drive (36) during this motion.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a tongue brush device comprising: a replaceable head assembly comprising: a brush head assembly at a proximal end of and substantially transverse to an upper housing, the brush head assembly comprising a drum roller with an application area having a predetermined surface profile effective to clean a tongue surface, the drum roller configured to be rotated about an axis using a drive source, and the upper housing comprising: a guard piece housing the brush head assembly, and a tongue guard oriented below the brush head assembly effective to prevent the drum roller from driving a tongue of a user between the guard piece housing and the brush head assembly when in use; and a base assembly configured to detachably couple with a distal end of the head assembly, the base assembly comprising a lower housing containing at least a portion of the drive source.

A multi-purpose apparatus for treating an animal. The apparatus includes at least two vibrators; a massage head coupled with the at least two vibrators; a controller configured to control the at least two vibrators such that they generate a variable beat frequency to the massage head; and a housing accommodating the at least two vibrators, the massage head, and the controller. The massage head comprises a concave curvature to follow contours of the animal so that the concave curvature becomes in contact with a musculoskeletal system of the animal, the massage head is coupled with the at least two vibrators so that two vibrators are positioned at opposite ends of the concave curvature. The massage head is adapted and dimensioned such that an interchangeable curry brush curved to follow the contours of the animal is coupleable with the massage head.

A rotatable body brush, preferably driven by an electric motor, has pivoted segments in the brush or working element. The segments swing outwardly when the user desires a larger-diameter brush, and can be retained inwardly when a smaller brush, such as a face brush, is desired.

An oral care implement for dispensing an oral care agent includes a housing, reservoir therein containing an oral care fluid, and an electrical circuit comprising first and second electrodes connected to an onboard power source. Each electrode is in contact with the oral care fluid in the housing. An actuator, operably coupled to the power source, is configured to both selectively energize the circuit and activate dispensing of the oral care fluid. An electrical charge is applied to the oral care fluid by activating the actuator when dispensing the oral care fluid. When the fluid comprises a peroxide based tooth whitening agent, the dispensed fluid pH is increased by the electrical charge which improves the efficacy of the whitener. In one embodiment, the implement is a modular system including a powered base unit and one or more interchangeable cartridges each having a reservoir containing an oral care fluid.

A plasma treatment device (1) designed to treat a surface with a dielectrically impeded plasma, having a base body (3) that has at least one flat treatment side (5) facing the surface to be treated, and having an electrode arrangement (9) that has at least one electrode (7) and having a dielectric that completely covers the at least one electrode (7) in the direction of the surface to be treated, and having a line arrangement comprising at least one high-voltage supply line (13, 13a, 13b), wherein the electrode (7) is connected to the line arrangement and is able to be supplied, via the high-voltage supply line (13, 13a, 13b), with a high-voltage signal able to be applied to the high-voltage supply line (13, 13a, 13b), and having a nub arrangement (15) arranged on the treatment side (5) of the base body (3) and that has a multiplicity of nubs (17), makes it possible to easily combine an effective plasma treatment with an effective mechanical treatment of the surface to be treated in that the at least one electrode (7) of the electrode arrangement (9) extends into at least one nub (17) of the nub arrangement (15).

An oral care implement for dispensing an oral care agent includes a housing, reservoir therein containing an oral care fluid, and an electrical circuit comprising first and second electrodes connected to an onboard power source. The present invention is concerned with a skin treatment device, comprising a shaver handle housing, a detachable brush head pivotably supported by the shaver handle housing about at least one brush head pivot axis (I) and a gearing mechanism. The shaver handle housing comprises a drive unit for driving at least one drive pin in a rotatory oscillating manner with a first amplitude about an oscillation axis (II) which is at least substantially perpendicular to the at least one brush head pivot axis (I). The brush head comprises a brush rotatable about a brush axis (III) which is at least substantially perpendicular to the at least one brush head pivot axis (I). The brush comprises at least one driven element coupled to the at least one drive pin by means of the gearing mechanism, wherein the gearing mechanism translates the rotatory oscillating movement of the drive pin into a rotatory oscillating movement of the driven element with a second amplitude which is smaller than the first amplitude of the drive pin.

A dental application device having a handle having a first end, a second end, and a containment chamber disposed within the handle. The device has a dental solution disposed within the containment chamber, a receiver tip coupled to the handle at the first end, a material passage within the receiver tip that forms a conduit between the first end and a receiving end, a frangible seal that separates the containment chamber from the material passage, and a piercing cannula in fluid communication with an applicator tip and having a distal piercing end extending toward the frangible seal. The piercing cannula is moveable between a first position and a second position. When in the first position, the piercing end is spaced apart from the frangible seal, and in the second position, the piercing end punctures the frangible seal and fluidly connects the dental solution with the applicator tip.

A targeted drug delivery device comprises a brush for use in delivery of one or more therapeutic agents during surgical procedures, including but not limited to, heart, chest, abdominal, brain, limb, vascular, eye, organ transplantation surgery or cancer surgical treatment. The therapeutic agent is selected from the group consisting of genetically engineered vectors or cells, proteins, stem cells, small molecule pharmaceuticals, drugs or biologics. Methods of treating diseases comprising delivering at least one therapeutic agent to a patient's organs or tissues using any one of the targeted drug delivery devices are disclosed.
