An electric toothbrush device having bristle movement in three dimensions includes an elongate body comprising a neck extending between a handle and a head. A drive shaft engaged to a motor in the handle extends into the head. A plate is engaged to a transfer shaft, which extends perpendicularly from the drive shaft through a planar face of the head and which is operationally engaged to the drive shaft. The plate is external to the head and parallel to the planar face. Bristles are engaged to a second face of the plate. First and second protuberances are engaged to the planar face and the plate, respectively. Movement of the plate parallel to the planar face induced by the transfer shaft brings the second protuberance into contact with the first protuberance to induce repetitive movement of the plate and the bristles in a direction perpendicular to the planar face.

An oral care implement with a soft tissue cleaner. The oral care implement may include a handle and a head, the head having a first surface, and an opposite second surface, and a peripheral surface extending between the first and second surfaces. A soft tissue cleaner may have a first cleaner fixed to the second surface of the head and a second cleaner fixed to the peripheral surface of the head. Furthermore, a second cleaner may incorporate a plurality of grooves extending at least a portion of the distance from the first surface to the second surface along the peripheral surface.

Disclosed herein is an oral information management system using a smart toothbrush, the oral information management system including: a smart toothbrush configured to include a camera and at least one sensor; and a user terminal configured to acquire information collected from the smart toothbrush; wherein the user terminal determines the oral health state of a user based on the information collected from the smart toothbrush.

A head for an oral care implement comprises a number of colored filaments extending from a mounting surface of the head and being grouped together to define an initial color pattern. The colored filaments comprise at least a first and a second type of filament, wherein the types of filaments differ in color changing characteristics over a pre-defined period of time, the pre-defined period of time being the same for the first and the second type of filament so that the initial color pattern changes color characteristics over at least a first pre-defined period of time to a first color pattern, the first color pattern being different form the initial color pattern.

An electric toothbrush, in combination with a universal base for receiving and wirelessly charging the toothbrush, the base to be coupled with the electric toothbrush for wireless communication therebetween. The base comprises a magnetic element for forming a magnetic connection with the electric toothbrush when the latter is received by the base for charging. An attachment brush part for an electrical body care brush, in particular an electrical toothbrush, wherein the attachment brush part is designed in a multi-part manner. The attachment brush part includes an attachment brush housing, a drive rod for driving a brush head, with a brush-head-side end section, on which a first toothing is arranged, and with a hand-part-side end section, and furthermore a brush head with a bristle carrier and care bristles which are arranged on this, wherein the bristle carrier includes a second toothing. The attachment brush housing further includes a securing element for the rotatable mounting of the hand-part-side end section of the drive rod. Disclosed herein is a novel toothbrush design and associated carrying case. In one embodiment the toothbrush may have a handle cylindrical in shape, and may break down into three separable sections, each joinable at threaded joints. One element may be configured to receive a removable bristle assembly. In one embodiment, the toothbrush elements may each be stored in separate compartments in the carrying case. The carrying case may also include a slidably extendible drawer configured to dispense floss. The carrying case may also include separate compartments for storing consumables such as toothpaste tablets and mouthwash tablets.

An apparatus for dispensing a material from a cartridge comprises a dispensing head having a passage therethrough, the passage extending from a receiving socket to a dispensing orifice through said dispensing head, an outer casing, securable to the dispensing head and rotatably relative to the dispensing head and an end cap threadably received within the dispensing head and having an end connector disposed towards the dispensing head. The receiving socket and the end connector are adapted to receive the cartridge so as to rotatably fix the end cap relative to the dispensing head wherein rotation of the outer casing threadably moves the end cap in a longitudinal direction thereby compressing the cartridge between the dispensing head and the end cap. A kit may include the apparatus and a cartridge extending between first and second ends and having an interior adapted to contain a substance to be dispensed therefrom.

The present invention is directed to a toothbrush that incorporates tapered bristle filaments in combination with tuft holes of a reduced size, such as between 1.3 mm to 1.4 mm in diameter. In another aspect, the invention provides a toothbrush that balances the number of tuft holes and the number of tapered bristle filaments within each tuft hole to achieve a unique ratio that reduces the cost of manufacture of the toothbrush while maintaining a mouth-feel that consumers associate with a quality product. In still another aspect, the present invention provides a toothbrush that incorporates tapered bristle filaments and also achieves a balance between reduced size tuft holes and the spacing between adjacent tuft holes to achieve a unique ratio that reduces the cost of manufacture of the toothbrush while maintaining a mouth-feel that consumers associate with a quality product.
