The apparatus operates in a plurality of different operational engagement position in which different engagement members contact the surface to remove pet hair from the surface depending on which operational engagement position the apparatus is positioned. In one operational engagement position, two or more engagement members, that are different types of engagement members, simultaneously contact the surface. In another operational engagement position, only one type of engagement member contacts the surface to remove pet hair from the surface.
