The box is configured to slidably couple to the cabinet, such that the box is extensible from the recess. The box has an upper face, which is open. Stairs, positioned in the box, have a bottom that is pivotally coupled to opposing sides of the box proximate to a front. A lift, coupled to and positioned in the box, is operationally coupled to a top of the stairs. An actuator, coupled to the box, is operationally coupled to the lift. The actuator is configured for activation by a foot of a user to compel the box to extend from the recess and to signal the lift to elevate the stairs through the upper face, wherein the stairs are configured for ascension by the user.

The step stool is supported on support channels fastened to two side walls of the cabinet. A pair of fixed track channels are supported on the support channels with the fixed track channel openings facing each other, within which two sliding track channels slide with one on the left and the other on the right. Four step support assemblies, each of which comprises a step support with one end pivotally attached to a roller and the other end pivotally attached to a foot. Two rollers slide within the left and other two rollers slide within the right sliding track channel. Two steps are supported on four corners by the four step support assemblies. When extended, the step stool provides two steps with approximately 13½″ rise in height.

The stool may be mounted to an interior of a cabinet or may include a weighted base that is positionable within the interior of the cabinet. The stool may include a cantilevered design.

The bottom support is held in place with magnets and folds down to supplement the stability and load capacity of the drawer slides. The device can be disassembled into a standard drawer once children have outgrown the need for elevation assistance.
