A sofa-bed includes a fixed frame and a foldable frame connected to the fixed frame and movable between an open configuration defining a bed configuration of the sofa-bed and a closed configuration defining a sofa configuration of the sofa-bed. The foldable frame includes levers hinged to the fixed frame. The sofa-bed includes at least a pair of tie rods made of elastomeric material, wherein each tie rod extends along a substantially longitudinal direction. A first end of each one of the tie rods is connected to fixed frame and a second end of each of the tie rods opposed with respect to the first end is associated to at least one of the levers.

A sofa bed iron frame mechanism has a side plate (16), a back plate (21), a first frame (1), a second frame (2), and connecting members (17); further includes a stabilizer rod assembly and an elastic connecting rod assembly. The first frame (1) is hinged to the second frame (2) by the stabilizer rod assembly, the second frame (2) is connected to the side plate (16) by the elastic connecting rod assembly, and the back plate (21) is disposed at a back side of the second frame (2). The first frame (1) and the second frame (2) are folded or unfolded through the stabilizer rod assembly, and the second frame (2) switches between a folded state and an unfolded state by inertia of the elastic connecting rod assembly. For this iron frame mechanism, there is no interference during folding.

A foldable sofa-bed includes: a base having a cavity; a bed with a seat section and a subseat section, each of the seat section and the subseat section including a cushion and an underlying panel; and a bed folding mechanism attached to the base, subseat and seat. The bed folding mechanism is configured to move the bed between a folded position, in which the seat and subseat sections are generally horizontally disposed and positioned in vertically stacked relationship in the cavity of the base, with the seat and subseat cushions facing upwardly, and an unfolded position, in which the seat and subseat sections are horizontally disposed and aligned to form a sleeping surface.

A foldable sofa-bed includes: a base having a cavity; a bed with a seat section and a subseat section, each of the seat section and the subseat section including a cushion and an underlying panel; and a bed folding mechanism attached to the base, subseat and seat. The bed folding mechanism is configured to move the bed between a folded position, in which the seat and subseat sections are generally horizontally disposed and positioned in vertically stacked relationship in the cavity of the base, with the seat and subseat cushions facing upwardly, and an unfolded position, in which the seat and subseat sections are horizontally disposed and aligned to form a sleeping surface.

A convertible furniture system or futon includes a convertible frame assembly that is mountable in an interior space and is deployable between a bench configuration and a flat, bed configuration. The frame assembly includes a back frame and a bottom frame that are pivotably coupled together and coordinate to form either the bench configuration that provides a user an upright seat or the bed configuration that provides the user a flat, substantially horizontal bed to lie down on. A user can maneuver the system from the bench configuration into the bed configuration and vice versa. The system may be installed inside of various interior living quarters, including inside of mobile vehicles. The system includes various support elements mounted to the interior space, the support element may be selectively engaged to support the system in the bed or bench configurations and during deployment and stowage of the system.

A convertible furniture system or futon includes a convertible frame assembly that is mountable in an interior space and is deployable between a bench configuration and a flat, bed configuration. The frame assembly includes a back frame and a bottom frame that are pivotably coupled together and coordinate to form either the bench configuration that provides a user an upright seat or the bed configuration that provides the user a flat, substantially horizontal bed to lie down on. An integrated chair for selectively providing seating support and sleeping support is provided. The integrated chair comprises a mobile sleeping unit and a chair shell. The chair shell comprises: a pair of spaced, opposed, side walls, each side wall having at least a bottom edge, an inner surface and an outer surface; a back wall extending between the pair of side walls; and a pair of truncated arms, one of each of the pair of arms corresponding with a respective one of the pair of side walls, each extending inwardly from the inner surface of a corresponding side wall and having a lower edge that is distal and above the bottom edge of the corresponding side wall; wherein the inner surfaces of the side walls and the lower edge of the arms of the chair shell define a storage compartment sized to accommodate the mobile sleeping unit when the mobile sleeping unit is in the closed position.

An integrated chair for selectively providing seating support and sleeping support is provided. The integrated chair comprises a mobile sleeping unit and a chair shell. The chair shell comprises: a pair of spaced, opposed, side walls, each side wall having at least a bottom edge, an inner surface and an outer surface; a back wall extending between the pair of side walls; and a pair of truncated arms, one of each of the pair of arms corresponding with a respective one of the pair of side walls, each extending inwardly from the inner surface of a corresponding side wall and having a lower edge that is distal and above the bottom edge of the corresponding side wall; wherein the inner surfaces of the side walls and the lower edge of the arms of the chair shell define a storage compartment sized to accommodate the mobile sleeping unit when the mobile sleeping unit is in the closed position.

A sofa that transitions between a sitting position and a sleeping position. The sofa includes a frame with a bracket and multiple arms and support bases that allow the frame to move from the sitting position and the sleeping position, and the reverse, by allowing the multiple arms to rotate and support bases to rotate about the bracket at attachment points where the bracket and arms are connected by fasteners. In some embodiments, a back support portion of the sofa is hingedly moveable into first and second positions to optionally reduce the vertical height of the back support to allow easier transport (i.e., in boxes and shipping containers) and movement (i.e., through small doorways and spaces) of the sofa, as described herein. In some embodiments the sofa has a space or notch underneath that is configured to be fastened or otherwise affixed to a platform, such as a bump out in a recreational vehicle, wherein the notch is configured to provide the sofa with a lower profile.
