This invention describes a protective cover for a wheelchair user, which comprises a frame structure, a fabric hood, and a curtain. The frame structure is attached to the body or handles of a wheelchair and hangs over the user sitting in the wheelchair. The fabric hood is waterproof and covers the top of the frame structure. A curtain made of transparent plastics or mesh screen is attached to the fabric hood or the frame structure and hangs down from the top in all directions to enclose the wheelchair user to near ground level and protect the user from rain, wind, bugs, sun, or other undesired outdoor conditions.

An apparatus for mounting an attachment to a seat assembly including a seat mounted on a base includes a substantially planar, substantially rigid mounting plate configured to mount between the seat and the base, a first portion of the mounting plate engaging a plurality of threaded fasteners between the seat and the base, a second portion of the mounting plate extending beyond a perimeter of the seat, and an attachment attached to the second portion of the mounting plate such that the attachment does not interfere with a movement of the seat.

A folding chair includes front and rear supports that fold and/or retract into central beams to reduce the space occupied by the chair in a folded configuration. A backrest is coupled to the central beams with a hub that allows an angle of the backrest relative to the central beams to be selected and for the backrest to be folded flat relative to the central beams. One or more actuators and pin actuators may control the relative movements of the backrest, front support, rear support, and central beams.

A portable sunshade configured for removable connection to a chair backrest has first, second and third sections removably connected to one another. The first section having a pair of first frame tubes, a pair of first cross tubes, a pair of second cross tubes, and joint connecting the first and second pairs of cross tubes to the frame. The second section is removably mounted to one end of the first section and has a pair of second frame tubes, a first fabric panel supported by the second frame tubes, and a pair of first hinge mechanisms connecting end portions of the second frame tubes to respective first end portions of the first frame tubes of the first section so as to permit the second section to undergo pivotal movement relative to the first section. The third section is removable mounted to another end of the first section opposite the one end thereof and has a pair of third frame tubes, a second fabric panel supported by the third frame tubes, and a pair of second hinge mechanisms connecting end portions of the third frame tubes to respective second end portions of the first frame tubes of the first section so as to permit the third section to undergo pivotal movement relative to the first section.

A kit for mounting an elongate object on a foldable chair. The kit includes: a mount having (a) a generally planar member; (b) a first projection from the front side of the generally planar member configured for receiving a first end of the elongate object, (c) a second projection from the back side of the generally planar member configured for mounting the mount on a first tubular member of the chair with the chair in a folded configuration; and a strap for detachably attaching the shaft of the elongate object to a second tubular member of the chair with the end of the elongate object received in the mount. Also, a method for using the kit to enable a user to transport the elongate object with the foldable chair.

An orthopedic lounge chair includes a substantially flat support surface that has a length, a width, a front side, and a back side and defines a back support section, a seat section foldably joined to the back support section at a first fold junction, and a leg support section foldably joined to the seat section at a second fold junction, a first bolster support coupled to and rising away from the front side of the back support section, the first bolster support extending longitudinally at least a majority of the width of the support surface, a second bolster support coupled to and rising away from the front side of the seat support section, the second bolster support extending longitudinally at least a majority of the width of the support surface, and a third bolster support coupled to and rising away from the front side of the leg support section, the third bolster support extending longitudinally a majority of the width of the support surface, wherein the first bolster, the second bolster, and the third bolster are not located on the first fold junction or the second fold junction of the lounge chair.

A collapsible sheltered bench operable to have a first collapsed configuration and a second erect configuration. The sheltered bench includes a base member comprising a bench surface for sitting. The sheltered bench further includes a canopy member having first and second support members and a cover. In the erect configuration the first and second support members extend from a first side of the sitting surface to a second substantially opposed side of the sitting surface along opposite sides of the longitudinal axis of the sitting surface. The first and second support members support the cover such that the cover extends over at least a portion of the sitting surface.

A collapsible sheltered bench operable to have a first collapsed configuration and a second erect configuration. The sheltered bench includes a base member comprising a bench surface for sitting. The sheltered bench further includes a canopy member having first and second support members and a cover. In the erect configuration the first and second support members extend from a first side of the sitting surface to a second substantially opposed side of the sitting surface along opposite sides of the longitudinal axis of the sitting surface. The first and second support members support the cover such that the cover extends over at least a portion of the sitting surface.

A kit for mounting an elongate object on a foldable chair. The kit includes: (e) a mount having (a) a generally planar member; (b) a first projection from the front side of the generally planar member configured for receiving a first end of the elongate object, (c) a second projection from the back side of the generally planar member configured for mounting the mount on a first tubular member of the chair with the chair in a folded configuration; and (f) a strap for detachably attaching the shaft of the elongate object to a second tubular member of the chair with the end of the elongate object received in the mount.
