A taco holder includes a rigid body and a pusher. The body is shaped like a truncated taco shell, including two sides and a bottom corresponding to those of the taco shell. An inside of the body cradles the taco in a lengthwise direction. The body sides include respective sliding slots penetrating the body and arranged in the lengthwise direction. The pusher is shaped like an angled cross-section of the body and contacts respective edges of the sides of the cradled taco. The pusher includes respective tabs extending through the sliding slots for securing the pusher to the inside of the body while allowing movement of the pusher and contacted taco along the inside of the body in the lengthwise direction. The pusher pushes the taco toward the truncated end in response to applied pressure to the tabs from outside the body in the lengthwise direction.

When it is ready for use, it can easily unfold into its pop-up state where the two top distal portions of the top layer are overlappingly connected to the underside of the corresponding fold-up walls of the bottom layer, providing good side support to the fold-up walls when food items, or other decorative subjects, are placed in the tray.

A frame assembly configured for assembly for holding taco shells includes a first frame member and a second frame member. The first frame member has a first arm, a second arm, a third arm and a fourth arm, the first frame member defining a first taco receiving channel between the first and second arms; a second taco receiving channel between the second and third arms; and a third taco receiving channel between the third and fourth arms. The second frame member has; a fifth taco receiving channel between the second and third arms; and a sixth taco receiving channel between the third and fourth arms. The first and second frame members are movable into a configuration such that the first and third taco receiving channels are aligned for receipt of a first taco and the fourth and sixth taco receiving channels are aligned for receipt of a second taco.
