Stacked cutlery system and method

A system for easily refilling cutlery dispensers and other devices includes a stack of identical cutlery items maintained by a retaining structure that can be removed either before, during, or after installation, depending on the dispenser configuration. In a first aspect, the cutlery handles are nested and the retaining structure includes a single adhesive strip applied to only one side of the stack. In a second aspect, the retaining structure includes separate adhesive strips applied to each side of the stack. In a third aspect, the retaining structure comprises a band extending around the stack, removal of the band from the stack being facilitated by breaking of a frangible section of the band. In all aspects a pull-tab or other graspable element can be provided to facilitate removal of the support structure. The stacked cutlery may also be loaded into a caddy or into a tray.

A receiving space is formed between the upper cover and the lower cover. An end of the lower cover is rotatably connected to an end of the upper cover by a pivoting portion, and free ends thereof jointly form an opening. The lower cover is formed with a first connecting portion and a second fastener corresponding to the first fastener to fasten the upper and lower covers. The tableware members are removably disposed on the main body. Each is provided with a second connecting portion corresponding to the first connecting portion to connect the tableware member with the main body.

One or both of the outer tines include a chamfered or tapered surface that extends laterally inward from a curved outer edge of the corresponding outer tine such that the curved tine/fork head edge acts as a splitting feature. In some embodiments one or both of the curved fork head edges that act as a splitting feature is/are smooth. In some embodiments, the eating utensil is formed of a glass reinforced thermoplastic material such as a glass filled nylon.

Thus, the overall size of the chopsticks holder structure can be reduced, the chopsticks are placed at the placement portion during use, and the design that the height of the pick-up portion is lower than that of the placement portion allows fingers to easily pick up the chopsticks for use from the pick-up portion, achieving convenience for use.

An element of a food package fabricated of the same material as the planar utensil element, such as a cover, covers at least a portion of the planar utensil element. The cover or other element of the food package provides physical and hygienic protection to the planar utensil element during transportation of the planar utensil element. The planar utensil element is positioned under the cover or other element on a surface of the food package.
