A protective cake cover for supporting candles includes a hollow sidewall having an upper end and a lower end, a top cover wall extending across the upper end of the hollow sidewall to define a closed upper end of the protective cake cover, a groove formed in the top cover wall that is configured to support one or more candles that project above the top cover wall, and a recess formed in a central region of the top cover wall and surrounded by the groove, whereby the recess is configured to receive a box that contains candles. The groove has a circular, square, or rectangular shape, and the recess has a square or rectangular shape that is adapted to receive a box of candles that can be stored on the protective cake cover.

A cake shield with a top cover and side wall dimensioned to enclose a cake to prevent contamination during celebration is disclosed. Recesses in the top cover may include a recessed track dimensioned to hold multiple candles, a deeper cylindrical or conical recess, or a recess dimensioned for a candle with a rectangular footprint. Use of transparent material allows the cake to be viewed under the shield. The cake shield may comprise a base wall that supports the side wall of the top cover, and two or more pieces may interlock to form the base wall. A kit may also include a base plate for supporting both the cake and the side wall, as well as decorations for the top cover that may include candles and other materials.

A cake saver device for preventing contaminants from coming into contact with a cake when blowing out one or more candles is presented. The cake saver device is useful for providing a stand/mount to hold the candles at a location away from the cake for preventing contaminants from spittle expectorated while blowing out the one or more candles from coming into contact with the cake. Also, the cake saver device provides peace of mind as a cost efficient and reusable device.

A faux birthday cake apparatus having in one example a flexible base that is indicative of a cake has a plurality of recesses configured to receive candles. The base can be bent or twisted to eject any wax drippings resulting from the candles. The upper surface of the base has a continuous central portion including indicia, such as a message indicative of a celebration. In another example, the apparatus has a base including a lower portion supporting an upper portion having a plurality of recesses configured to receive candles. A selectively removable flexible sheet-like layer is disposed on the upper portion and has openings aligned with the plurality of recesses. After a celebration, any wax drippings that fall on the sheet-like layer can be easily ejected by bending or twisting the sheet-like layer. The materials are all dishwasher safe.

A cover is positioned over a base unit and a first candle is inserted through a perforation formed in the cover and into a first apertured formed in the base unit. The cover is rotated around the candle to position the cover such that additional perforations in the cover are aligned with additional apertures in the base. The cover can also be rotated to align an alignment marker on the cover with an alignment marker on the top surface of the base unit. Additional candles can then be inserted through the perforations in the cover and into additional apertures in the base. The candles can then be lit. After the candles are extinguished (e.g., blown out the by birthday celebrant), the candles can be removed from the apertures in the base and through the perforations in the cover.

A kit for constructing a cake-protecting assembly, including at least two first elongated frame members, at least two second elongated frame members connectable to the pair of first elongated frame members to yield a frame defining a working plane, at least two leg members pivotably connected to each respective elongated first frame member, and at least two elongated stabilizing members connectable to extend orthogonally from a leg member connected to each respective elongated support member and oriented parallel to the working plane. The kit also includes four pegs connectible to the elongated first frame members for limiting the movement of each respective leg member.

The present invention is an assortment of circular, rectangular, and square-shaped cake shield covers for the protection of cakes from spittle and impact. These cake shields allow for the placement of circular and rectangular candles into holes or groves embedded in the cake shield. The cake shields allow for a rotatable platform on top of the cake shield, which make also include candle groves.
