A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, a system for monitoring a mailbox is provided. The system may include a mailbox device including at least one sensor, such as a video camera, for detecting movement, and a mailbox communication interface configured to communicate information including sensor information generated by the at least one sensor. The system may further include a premises device including a premises communication interface configured to receive the sensor information from the mailbox device and processing circuitry configured to determine whether a mailbox event has occurred and trigger at least one alert if a mailbox event occurred. The system may further provide notification of the event to an authorized entity via mobile device, voice assistant, etc. An access control unit may be used to limit access to the mailbox to authorized individuals.
Mail receptacle with variable carrier and receiver access points
The disclosure provides an innovative delivery receptacle for receiving objects (such as parcels and mail) deposited into the receptacle and securely storing them once deposited. The receptacle allows for the orientation of the position of an input opening and delivery door for a delivering party, such as a courier, to deposit the objects in the receptacle to be changeable with respect to the orientation of an access opening and access door for a receiving party to remove the objects. In one embodiment, the delivery door also restricts access to the deposited objects while they are deposited into the receptacle. The receptacle may be a stand-alone receptacle or it may be a structure-mounted unit, such as installed in a wall or other structure. The receptacle may comprise a separate first and second sections that may be shipped separately and assembled with the desired orientation.
Package receiving device and package receiving method
A package receiving device 10 includes: a casing 12 having an opening 12a formed in an upper surface thereof; a placement table 22 configured to move up and down between a raised position at which the placement table 22 is located at the upper surface opening 12a of the casing 12 and a lowered position at which the placement table 22 is located inside the casing 12; a lid member 32 configured to move between an opening position and a closing position so that the lid member 32 opens/closes the upper surface opening 12a of the casing 12. After the package is placed thereon, the placement table 22 is moved to the lowered position from the raised position, and subsequently the lid member 32 is moved to the closing position from the opening position, whereby the package placed on the placement table 22 is housed inside the casing 12.
